I was meaning like, if you parked up in the rain, and it starts pouring down, surely that can wreck something?

Even with a standard scoop driving in the rain... alot of water is going to go in the scoop and into the engine bay... so i cant see much differance... But that scoop looks sick!

im not getting snarky.. its just seriously the safest and easiest thing to check out yourself. There is no easier way to understand it than just trying <------- that yourself.

7 bolts, and spin the scoop round, it wont quite sit in right but youl get an idea straight away as to whether you like it or can do it. it requires about 10mm trimming if that. your left with about a 10mm gap where the wider part used to be.

when you doing this adikt ? i was thinking of drilling holes to keep Using the bolts but Im sure silicone would hold it legit . . . .funky what was the reason behind the mesh in your reverse scoop ? to stop engine parts flying out smashing the window ? lol

I believe that is the reason... Someone said something about engine fluids aswell and having to 'louver' the outlet or something so no engine fluid could escape and cover the windscreen but then that would screw the airflow up big time and it would be pointless? I cant find the other thread its in..

I plan on doing it as soon as i find a decent scoop on trademe.. Ill put up a wtd section here too.

the reason why i've reversed it, is to create a low pressure zone behind the scoop and aid cool air through the motor.

the reason i meshed it was for MSNZ rules - they want some way of stopping engine bits escaping in the event they want to escape. (tbh i think its a croc as they would still escape which ever way the scoop is facing).

Back when I had my scoop reversed, I made some spacers out of flat plastic sheet and stuck them to the underside of the scoop to fill in that gap that you end up with - seemed to work fine.

I also remember possibly slotting some of the mounting holes or re-drilling holes in the bonnet so that you can use all the bolts.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
