If Its one of the newer models 2000+ then u won't even need to connect the turbo to the intake throttle

Just remove the wire from the Maf and it Wil run fine

The ecu's have a fairly half decent Sd mode setup so will revert to thT and drive ok

On older models the Sd mode is no as refined but it will still run in Sd mode

Basically with afm unplugged the ecu will run in Sd mode with check light so u can Essentially run with throttle open and not connected to the the turbo

Just nana it along and get sorted soon eh

When my reducer popped off the throttle body my powerFC noticed the sudden pressure drop it shut the engine down... Happened twice actually.... Personally i wouldnt drive anywhere with out it connected

powerfc is not smart enough to support sd mode normally (unless specifically setup i been told)

the stock ecu had coding to support that and will run the car in rough mode without any connections as long as afm is unplugged

the newer ones have a better coding so not as rough..fairly smooth ish

why on earth would you want to run it with no intercooler if your not going to plumb anything up to throttle ? you'll be sucking in dust which with score the SHIT out of the bores and rape the rings . . . least you could have plumbd maf and air filter up to throttle body and a air filter

LOL i would have just plumbed it up to go get some.. or walked ??

its not a boost leak if afm disconnected.... ecu runs in sd mode so wont know abt the leak

will drive like sick but maybe in certain urgent situatuions its necessary..perhaps..

hmm.. the ecu wont know how much air is going in.. it wont know how much fuel to add.. it wont know how much load is on the engine...

long story short people must look at cars differently.. i would never do such rangi-ness but none the less OP has his shizz sorted..

all though the time it took you to get on the forum and post up etc you could have just slipped it back on !

subaru ecu's support sd mode

its basically a rough rough calculation on how much load based on

intake air temp

throttle position

map value

rpm

rate of change of parameters

anyway its a rough mode thats on a backup map table.. in the event of maf failure things can still run in a limp home mode sorta thing

wont kill the engine for small distances and just nana driving will get most cars home/workshop so can change maf

i suppose thats the reasoning by subaru ppl..lol.. maybe other models have it too..i dunno.. i know my mazda6 does..

anyway yea man i do agree on the no filter bit u posted.. i suppose in some certain urgent situations it cant be helped

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
