My alarm won't f***ing disarm

Very strange. When i got home today my alarm wouldn't arm, so I locked the car with the keys, tried again later and it armed so thought sweet as. Now my car won't disarm and it's immobilized so can't start with key. Tried both remotes, ended up pushing unlock for 10min straight and it finally unlocked, wtf can cause this?? I'm trading this car tomorrow!

Is it beeping or flashing the lights etc? Sounds like the remote battery is dead.

If its the alarm and not remote battery (more than likely it is) it'll be a bad earth.

The lights on the battery flash when I press buttons, but I tried the spare remote and same problem.

The alarms earth? As the flashing dash light was flashing as normal

Is it a sh*tty Meridian alarm?

They usually fail as the indicator flash unit shorts out, due to not being able to handle the current. As a result the board becomes U/S and generally the immobilizer circuits fail as a result.

I've pulled quite a few out - they generally go straight in the skip (where they originally should have belong).

If you're trading the car in; just bypass the immobilizer circuits - piece of piss; seeing as they will most likely be on the same loom in the same spot by the steering column. It's common to cut the ignition and starter feeds.

That way the car will start regardless of alarm state.
