That's gotta be frustrating, maybe you want to charge the battery up, and check your altenator belts, because an aftermarket immobiliser shouldn't affect which key started it up.

Was it just going "click" when you turned the key? if so, then it could be either the relay to the starter or a flat battery, it was in my dads old bg wagon. He fixed the relay, and charged the battery, voila! insta-start.

At one stage we had a screwdriver in the car we had to open the bonnet to short a connection to start it lol, till we bothered fixing it >.< it's now fixed and the car is sold on.

What brand immobiliser/alarm?

Its a uniden. And nope it wasn't going click. I'm not very good with the lingo but it was doing the thing whenever you turn your key just before the engine roars into life. However the engine wasn't starting up, it just kept making that sound! But the sound wasn't slowly dying out like it has done to my other cars when they've had a flat battery either.

I only assumed it was the key, it could have been a mechanical fault im not sure, however it's been working fine since then (never encountered it)
