'04 Outback brakes

My old man has an '04 Outback.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what other Subaru brakes will fit on them? I kinda want to do a 4pot/2pot conversion on it for father's day just for a laugh. Preferably with bright red calipers.

they run a 330 rotor from factory - so brembos bolt straight on. This means 4 pots also have the right bolt pattern, but you'd be going from a 2pot 330mm *30mm set up, to a 294mm * 24mm 4 pot set up.. so potentially no real upgrade unless going to brembos imo...?

Brembo calipers + pads and you're away laughing

I considered this for my outback ...

Im unsure about the rear spec brakes.

Oooooh interesting. I'd love to whack a set of the big gold calipers on the front.

Next question... do the standard rims clear them, and is anything needed (cert etc?) other than just bolting them on?

as all the parts are oem no cert is technically required. i beleive the rotors are the correct offset to accept brembos so calipers and pads and away you go

You sure about the 330mm mine only has 294 on it

i havent tried but i suspect the 5spokers do.. i must try them on my race car

there are three pad sizes afaik which might hint to different rotor sizes.. i know a bp legacy in wellies that did a brembo straight swap on his rotors

Outback are 294.only bp/bl with 327mm rotors are 3.0r and gt. Outback got smaller ones to clear wheels.

clear wheels?!!? in which dimension - in 17's they clear the 330s as per v7's. They have a tonne of room between caliper and wheel spokes as well.

good to know though.. means could slap some 4pots on the OB for laughs.

So what's the conclusion here?

The Outback is the EZ30R if that makes any difference. And it looks like it has pretty huge rotors.

a quick search online returns the 294 * 24mm disc man.

It was an option to put 16s on the outback so they keep smaller brakes and most people who buy the outback are not after the same braking performance.

ah yes - the 2.5 ones run 16's, only the BPE got 17s in Outback. Makes sense now.
