clock - dash

hi guys, when i bought my wrx i thought my clock was not working, but today i saw that this is working, but the clock light is not working as should work, i only can see the time when the sun hits my dash otherwise i cant. does anyone know how to fix that ??

off or on does not matter, still pretty nuch impossible to see the time

Mines the same, if you look closely form an angle you can see it, but im guessing the bulb is blown or something. Is it a dash removal job I assume?

Adam I have the same problem on my Version 6 as well. Did you manage to get it fixed?

not sure if this applies to your version 5/6 cars but the repair principal is the same

Any idea on what sort of bulb it would be?

oh so the v5/6 has a backlit LCD display. yar thats totally different to the v7 clock

just having a look online, its suggested that you need a "12v 1.2W T5 globe"

For anyone wondering about the dash clock on a V7 or Forester that have a habit of sh*ting out.

Certain models of Mitsubishi from 98-02 have a clock in them that has the same plug and only needs a very minor modification to mounts to fit in.

Works perfectly and only a 5 min job, I got mine out of an 2000 Cedia at pick a part. Think it was only $7 been working perfectly for several months.
