yar. thats the 'official' word, but it doesn't stop you from having fun - just no silly risks. have a look at this, its about as close as you can come before having to back off. (i would love to have followed through with an inside pass but its just not acceptable)

doesn't stop you teasing it though eh heh

;) Yep, every now and then someone gets a bit carried away (in fact one of you RA boys passed me with a slightly marginal dive through the inside of the elbow at the April Teretonga Playday) but by and large people do behave themselves.

Something I'll add for anyone planning to go who hasn't done a trackday before - keep an eye on your mirrors for faster traffic catching you, and be aware there may be cars which don't have the grunt to pass on the straights but are very capable in the corners - if they catch you they're faster over a lap so back off on a straight if need be to let them pass. Speaking from experience its quite frustrating spending most of a lap stuck behind a car that pulls away on the straights only to catch it again in the next corner.

Also be aware that most incidents happen either in the first few sessions or the last one of the day - so ease into things at the start, and don't get too overconfident at the end.

Don't be intimidated by it though, keep your head screwed on and its great fun :)

actually.. may have been the other white RA that looks almost identical to mine.. i've just checked the footage of every lap that day.. i did pass a blue GTR and small white Purgeot? on the inside and a red MX5 on the outside

<wait a moment.. i mean mx5, not mr2. sorry for the insult :P>

;D

Yep red MX5, that was me. Spent a lot more time sideways at Levels than Teretonga but both days were great fun. Missed Ruapuna unfortunately as I had to shift that weekend.

PS - I recall pulling to the inside coming onto the straight to let people past a few times, it was only the one time during one of the first sessions that one of you ducked under me as I ran a bit wide - would have been a perfectly acceptably pass if racing just a bit cheeky for a trackday. No harm done though, we all have a bit too much fun from time to time!

Not sure yet if I'll be at Teretonga on the 18th but will hopefully get there :)

Ah yes think I did notice an Impreza parked on the embankment now that I think about it. The 115 raw, thumping horsepower of the MX5 got it down to about the 1:23 mark which I was fairly happy with but still had definite room for improvement. 1:26 at Levels was better.

Yep, my MX5 shocks are pretty knackered (218k on the clock) and its also wearing cheap crap tyres (kingstars and GT radials) which were on the 15"s when I got them.

That said, 95% of the sideways moments were completely deliberate ;) and my times were within a second of the other (silver) MX5 which had better suspension, sticky tarmac rally tyres, full cage/buckets/harnesses etc and was being driven by an experienced Targa NZ competitor.

There is quite a list of potential improvements I could make if/when I decide to spend money on it, but for now its just good cheap fun.

Wet....very wet and wet again. Plus some wind.

Drags were single laned. Non-treed but timed i think.

Circuits were good. Didnt look like any real grouping. Due to the wet i filmed quite a few off at the elbow.

Not many cars but i think it was due to the rain.

Otago Wreckers Wrx whoever that is... and H8EVOS was there....cracking flames.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
