Bonnet scoop options?

Ok guys, I\'m slowly bringing the missus around to the idea of a new car and in particualr an Sti Forester or Impreza. While I like the factory fitted bonnet scoop, she HATES the things immeasurably. After a bit of a chat she has conceded that if an aftermarket bonnet was avaialble for say an SG9 Foz Sti or Ver 9 Sti Impreza she\'d consider one of these. She reckons the scoops on the later model Ver10 Impreza\'s and Sti\'s are cool, I agree and want to try find out if such a product exists.

I know the factory fitted ones look the way they do for a reason, airflow etc etc but I agree the type of scoop on our \'01 Blitzen looks cool. Kinda struggling to describe what I mean but hopefully you guys catch my drift, lol. Any help appreciated.

If you have the know how and time build one, its not terribly hard. Or look at state side websites as they like to swap out their scoops - spency tho

I\'ve tried google but just can\'t find what I\'m looking for ay. As for a FMIC, I dunno, I always hear the same things, increased lag etc etc. Also costly I imagine.

If you\'re worried about costs, then I\'d suggest you probably wouldn\'t be looking for replacement scoop options, especially if they have to be sourced from overseas.

Check out Japanparts.com. I saw at least one option for the Forester by SYMS, and I\'m sure there will be options for the newer Impreza\'s as well.

Still spendy though, so you\'ll have to decide which way your money will go.

Exactly. Anyone know of a good, reputable company that can find a good vehicle in Japan and organise shipping, compliance etc? Not quite so keen on spending good money on an average condition vehicle here, don\'t want something with 140ks and sketchy service records if you know what I mean.

Able to be low slung is cause the bonnet slopes forward so much. To be completely blunt you can barely notice the difference in response a front mount makes, best bet as above would just be non Turbo bonnet plus front mount. How much $$ difference is there between a v9 and v10 anyway?

Or maybe just get an evo or one of those mazda6 most things, no scoop! Haha.
