Decimates gearbox conversion issues continued

So, I\'ve not got the box mated to the engine (refer previous topic) but now I\'ve found several other issues.

Firstly - I have tried multiple searches, I am guessing this stuff has been covered before but without perusing hundreds of threads I figure it\'ll be OK to ask. Plus, thanks everyone so far for your help with my project.

Now i\'ve got the GTB 4.44 gearbox on the BC5 I\'ve run into a few issues - thought I might get a sanity check:

Firstly, there are lots of electrical/sensor connectors that the old box didn\'t have:

The larger circle on the above pic is part of the loom but doesn\'t match anything on the gearbox?

Then there\'s the speedo drive - old one is manual, the new one uses electronic right? What do I need to do to convert?

And finally - the shift linkage seems to be missing something? It\'s about an inch or two too sort too, argh! Plus there doesnt seem to be anywhere for the spring to go ???

I\'ve had a look at some other pics, and it\'s missing a U bracket type thing it seems - is this correct?

You are correct in thinking that you\'re missing the u shaped bracket thing. You also need the old style speedo drive that screws into the box. You just unscrew the electronic one and replace it with the old type. Have you removed an old box you could steal these parts off? Otherwise you\'re going to need to try to source them.

I\'m not sure about the plugs as its been too long since I played round with this same conversion.

There\'s a place out by korere (westport way from nelson) with a lot of wrecked cars out the back(LOTS OF SUBIES), even an old leone up front (never had time to enquire) but I\'d assume they either wreck/collect and sell parts they may have some of the bits you need. If they sell them that is.

Crap, I\'ve sold the old box I had no ides. Might email the guy I sold it too see if he wants to sell the parts back as he was just replacing an old style one of the same type

OK i\'ve now hit a new snag - the driveshaft doesn\'t bolt up to the diff! The bits in red below are what I\'m talking about - the holes in the driveshaft side are about 3-4mm closer together than the holes on the diff side. Argh!

Do I need the d/shaft from a 4.44, or can I just unbolt the plate off the diff and replace it with the smaller sized one from a 4.11?

Righteo, so the latest issue in this saga:

I put the new CV cups/stubs in the GTB diff, and this has stopped the skipping. I\'ve also put the correct sized flange on the diff, so it should bolt up to my driveshaft.

Finally went to install it on the weekend and the f%$&ing bearings on by BC driveshaft are too fat to fit inside the GTB cups. I tried swapping the spider/bearing holder from the GTB cups onto the BC driveshaft but noooo the spline count is different.

I really can\'t be farked changing the rear driveshafts to GTB ones (doubt they\'d fit anyway), so does anyone know if there are any 4.44 diffs our there which should play nicve with my stock BC5 driveshafts.

Waste of effort and $$ getting that bloody GTB diff to where it is lol all good learning though

my 4.444 LSD one went to the Scrapmetal just over a month ago as i couldn\'t take all my stuff with me. I dumped probably a grands worth of parts if not more... -CDB,diff, spare axels, front diff\'s & stubs, gear sets, casings, all stuff i\'d collected over the years for one day i\'d use them

Maybe if i drove it more i would\'ve used something.
