V7 - Cold Weather Fuel Smell - Who has fixed it?

I\'ve noticed recently that during cold weather I get a strong fuel smell coming through the A/C

Seems to be coming from drivers side of engine bay, I\'ve done some research on google and it seems this is especially an issue in the USA, infact Subaru recalled cars with the fault.

I\'ve seen a few people on here have had it, but has anyone managed to fix it? what is involved?

I\'ve just started to have this issue, only when cold, and it\'s got me worried. Shouldnt be able to smell petrol!!!

i have never gotten that smell....

maybe need to retighten lines?

Contact Subaru NZ and say your having the issue that got cars recalled in the States. Say you want them to fix it as part of the re call.

I\'ve fixed it on a couple of legacy\'s of similar age and its always just the clamps under three manifold on the fuel lines that need tightening.

No but the alternator does. Its always tricky

Tried calling up Armstrong in Chch years back regarding this problem..

Same response..

Solution: Moved up to Auckland...

Sometimes US famed frivolous law suits don\'t seem that stupid and useless after all..

Well feck if CHCH won\'t do it theres no way Invercargill\'s going to lmao. :-\
