i have been getting good results with just my tune, 117kw to 140kw atw with just tune and alot more torque

That\'s a good gain, but sh*t that\'s bugger all power! My boring stock TT Legacy makes more than that, although admittedly has a giant whole in the torque curve!

Do you have a dyno plot at all? Interested to see how it looks in comparison to a turbo.

Isnt a boring stock TT legacy 160fkw odd whereas a GTB or the like 206fkw odd?

I have a boring stock TT GTB (BG5), 160wkw on a dynapack dyno a few years ago. Stock exhaust and everything.

Is that safe enough to be flashed onto any other stock 3.0R?

Sadly there are alot of different ecus that they use, mine wasnt one that romraider had definitions (not many defintions for the autos) for so i had to find a tuner that had defintions that would sell it to me or get them to do a tune, lucky for me i found a tuner in sydney that has had definitions for it and is pretty good. Basically we just email back and forth with logs and then uploading new tunes and seeing how i like the feel of it. At the moment i wanted the auto to actually shift right, and for some more power and economy. At the moment i think im on tune 3 and soon to update it again and see if i can get it a little better. Yeah but his deal is that you send him your ecu rom and he tinkers with it as long as he has a definition and you tell him what mods you have and what you want and he sends it back and you upload it. its pretty easy. He is the only one that i have found that can also "tune" the auto trans. Best part is that he does unlimited updates for the one price as long as your not throwing on a turbo or the raptor super charger.

this is my old dyno sheet with factory tune

You dealing with KIDo racing tunes ?

also you only had 117atwkw from a 180kw 3.0 motor? I thought the car lost round 27% through the driveline

Its not an exact science, that is what specs dyno read at a clubsub dyno day. For reference Thorpys b4 gt auto made almost identical power (which would be right given the quoted numbers)

Hoping to do headers and exhaust this year and then if there is a dyno day see what its doing. But those 180kw numbers are from the flywheel and now i read my dyno again it looks like it was 127kw at the wheels. And yes marky is 100% correct me and thropys GT had basically the same numbers just that mine had alot more torque, and yes im dealing with kido tunes but also with Gotasuby

Right my goal is round 220kw at the motor which I understood to be 150-160atwkw hoping this will be achieved with my above mods in time ....of course a FAT torque curve and a better shifting trans ....then in time if I decide to get a manual I\'ll be able to move all the parts over and just tske it back to a stock tune ....from what I\'m reading on the Lib-forum the Aussie guys are getting great results

I understand GTB make the power way easy but I\'m after a car that car also tow a decent trailer etc

yeah sounds like your tuners have got it sorted

Well fuel wise I\'m finding the 5eat far better than my old 4eat BH ....got close to 700kms to the 64lt tank driving down from chch and it\'s stock.... many find with mods economy can improve 10%+

Now from memory of the 50+ tanks of fuel I put through the BH I was doing real well to get over 500kms and that was mostly highway Kms ...

Of course I\'m only onto my 2nd tank of fuel in the new wagon but at this stage It\'s looking good

mine averages about 6km/l (16.5l/100km) towing

im doing 13l/100km at the moment with a mix of town and open road

  • 1 month later...

Have fitted the new stainless intake box ....and had this magnetic fuel line fuel saver sitting in the tool box so also put it on .....don\'t know if they actually have helped(Or I\'m just driving better) but my current av fuel is 9.6-9.8 per 100kms thats 80/20 hghway city

Makes a joke of the fuel use bashing the 3.0 gets....for a 245hp AWD 1.5ton wagon I think it bloody awesome

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
