Which would you have??

Recommended Posts

Looking at upgrading my suspension as my rear shocks are starting to get a bit knocky.

Would you choose second hand cusco/tein ect adjustables or save a bit more and buy new BC golds? Probably cant realy afford new cusco/teins ect.

For Bushes whiteline of nolathane? I have read a couple of people seem to rate the whiteline stuff over the nolathane brand.

Front sway bar, how thick would you go?

Probably should put my current setup of front and rear cusco strut braces, cusco front K brace and ultra racing rear sway bar. Standard sti ra springs and shocks from what i can tell.

Its currently running 55 profile tyres as well on the 16s which probably isnt helping anything much, not sure why some one would put them on??

I find it tends to jump around a bit around the twistys, body roll isnt bad, i dont want a slamed/no suspension ride, i want something that works, soaks up the bumps and handles well.

Second hand struts are a real lottery. Ive bought 3 sets which have all turned out to be duds, all name brand japanese gear, all visually mint

That said rebuilds are cheapish, as in a decent second hand set refurbished to as new, could a lot cheaper than buying new ones outright, especially so if youre getting some from someone trustworthy who legitimately removed to upgrade or whatever

The spring rates for the bcs are ridic firm arent they? Compared to most tein etc ones (dont quote me on that), id look to the milder option for a daily driven car but some guys are happy with it #becauseracecar

The balloon tyres wont be helping much either

Shit odds Ive had the same luck.

Rebuilds arent that cheap tho esp if youre doing the whole set. Best bit about BC is a replacement insert costs $150.

My BC golds are pretty good maybe a bit bouncy but I do have the damping wound up quite a bit rather than running the correct rate springs.

I think I would shorten shocks and run compressed springs with camber bolts next time around.

I would just do the rear bar with a 22mm adjustable job and see how you like it for a start. Thats what Im running and made a night/day difference.

Currently have a bit of a Cusco setup on my V7 RA, coilovers, front and rear strut braces, front and rear sway bars and K brace.

Its a daily driver but the sway bars definitely made a big difference. Think my front one is 22mm.

Dont know if i could drive another car without the same setup without feeling dissapointed....

The coilovers are still a bit firm even with dampening wound down but i dont mind it, Ive also had Teins but personally prefer the Cusco\'s.

Probably want to chime in here too.

The plan is 24mm front and rear whiteline sway bars.

Both front and rears are adjustable, with the hopes that I can soften up the front if there is too much understeer.

From whats been said here, it now seems like going for a 22mm front may be the recommended?

I run a 23mm rear and standard V7 STI front... feels nicely balanced with coilovers.

Personally I wouldn\'t upgrade the front swaybar unless you\'re gonna track it most furiously.

Yeah I\'ve upgraded my rear on my v7 sti as well and wouldn\'t upgrade the front without upgrading the rear some more, the balance feels \'just right\' at this point

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
