Nah, shouldn't have any effect on starting. More likely fuel pump or spark.

Well it's deff getting fuel, took fuel lines off and it pumping no worries. I took off vac hoses 1,2 and 3 from bbod and sprayed carb cleaner down them, turned key and it started, but only grit a few seconds then just dies...

It won't be BBOD etc related if it refuses to even fire

I'd be looking at maybe AFM or something else completely. I had a fuel pump fail but could just manage enough grunt to prime it, start it, and run for a second or three before sputtering and dieing - drove me mental trying to figure out

So got a CEL 66 last night. I have no idea why, hasn't hinted at anything being wrong prior. CEL light stays on ( doesn't flash) and disappears once car turned off and then back on but will come back on once if I stomp on it and give her some gas. BE5A Legacy

It can be over or under-boost related (normally is) - what boost levels are you seeing

Hi guys I've manage to fix my issues by replacing the black box and then since then I've almost replaced all the cacuum lines with solicon hose but how do you hook up a boost tap a drawing would be good thanks

Just hook in the 23 line where the joiner is or does it replace the solenoid in the inner guard ???

So I have code 66

Put it in test mode and it seems Allgood but in case I have missed what should be moving and should I hear

And what are all the many couases of code 66

Should hear both fans pulsing on/off, all solenoids inside the BBOD clicking open/closed. The ECV and IACV should both be moving.

Most likely something blocked/dirty in the BBOD, here's a cleanout how to:

The fans are not going on and off

Won't go over 0.5 bar and black smoke one the exhaust

I'm still a bit new to the twin turbo where will I find the ECV and IACV

Fans should both be pulsing in test mode. Maybe check the fan fuses in the engine bay fuse box.

ECV - Exhaust control valve, drivers side. Should see the actuator rod moving in and out:

IACV - Intake air control valve, drivers side under the TMIC. Again should see the actuator arm moving in and out:

Yes both EVC and IACV move

So went for a drive after work today and I will feel sluggish and the boost gauge will read 0.5 bar and then get to about 4500 rpm and then rise up to 1.0 bar when it rises I can feel a thud when it does it but there was times when the boost would do nothing and it would shoot up to 6000rpm.

When it is idling it will just die sometimes
