$15,000 for a 2003 Version 8 STi (fully stock - 120,000kms) - GOOD PRICE???

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Looking at a 2003 Version 8 STi

It is fully stock in the STi blue with factory gold wheels. 120,000kms, two owners, looks very tidy indeed.

I have been offered it for $15,000. Providing all is good when I get a pre-purchase inspection, is this good shopping?

Thanks

Scott

I know the one you are talking about was and still considering this myself but i would need atleast afew minor mods for my needs so probly keep looking, but that is an awesome price should go for it.

Not bad at all, I picked up my v8 sti for 14k with 108k on the clock unmolested (+ all the basic mods done exhaust, pod,FMIC,pod filter, adjustables, tune), so it's a good deal.

Wow that is good shopping!! How did you manage that one? Cheers mate

Guys this is what the pre-purchase inspection had to say:

- Play in both rear shock absorbers

- Knock in LH boot hinge

- Rocker cover gaskets leaking oil

- Clutch pedal high suggesting wear

- Evidence of accident damage including repaired or replaced lower radiator mounts, slight crease in LH chassis rail

So from this, what do you now think of the price? Are these easily fixable or should i stay away?

Apart from that...the other ****s simple

Just spoke to the guy at Winger Subaru and he said it is very very minor and wouldn't stop him buying it at all.

Any idea on the approximate cost for fixing those other things?

I would get a second opinion... maybe from a panel&paint specialist?

The chassis damage is what to worry about, you will hear rattles and things and you don't know what sort of accident it was but crease to the rails hmmmm.... maybe explains why it is on the cheaper side of things...definitely agree with ADIKT to get a second opinion from a panel specialist for peace of mind...all the other stuff is quite easy to sort out in a weekend if you are handy with tools...

$300 for rocker cover gasket kit with all the washers etc, $30 for brake fluid to bleed clutch, $20 for a tub of greese to redo rear struts, and busy saturday

this... but chassis damage i would be inclined to agree to have a specialist to have a look at that

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
