V7 sti ecu in a v6

First issue you run into there is that the ECU v6 to v7 goes from a 3 plug to a 5 plug. You'd either have to rewire the plugs to the new v7 plugs or make a v5/6-v7 plug adaptor harness the ECU's change a fair bit.

Though the v5/6 ones are tunable; I hear STM has the gear to tune them now. And there's the place near Napier/Hastings or that area.

Yes i contacted them and said they can tune it but dont recommend to and probably wouldnt do it

Few things that could cause issues: avcs would need turning off or run a wrx non avcs ecu, cam/crank triggers are way different and would need swapping over, will need a fair chunk of wiring swapping over and the headache of recalibrating everything. Its been investigated a few times on here and burntrubber I think his user was/local up here was going to try setting it up in his V5 unsure how he got on. Personally if I was in your shoes Id just rip into wrc developments and see what he can do with it. Hopefully ecutek can do away with the maf.

Hrmmm so could be abit harder. Thats why i asked haha. Was also looking at the ecu from raijin

the development of V5/V6 ESL board is still in progress and due to be released Early Next year.

this option is a better(cheaper) than Ecu tek.

We(SSM) are also Official Distributors for ESL Daughterboards in NZ.

There is another option the French one name escapes me but I got him to sign up here theres a thread on it. Only issue with it is theres no distributor here and ecus have to get sent over there. Hopefully someone picks it up over here.

I was looking in to doing the swap in my forester.

Basically, change crank trigger wheel

change cam sensor wheel

change maf sensor

there were a few more sensors to swap for the v7 ones

Easiest to do the swap if you got a engine and body loom and repin for your dash,or swap in the v7 dash.

A small weekend job it certainly isnt, But the advantage is tunability in a v6. If you arent patient, or good with electrical drawings, you are much better off getting a link

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
