difference between v6 sti four pot and brembos

Recommended Posts

You can put 330mm disks on the Subaru 4pot calipers and this works well, I have done it. I do not use a brake booster either.

Does anyone know the piston sizes on both calipers for comparison.

Need an adaptor+cert tho ae russ?

Pistons size shouldnt matter an ounce. I dont have sizes on file for brembo early pistons are 1 11/16, 2 1/4 and 2 3/16 not sure which one is 4 pot. More pressure per square inch with smaller pistons boon or koom can explain that one.

There a few incorrect statements here. Brembo callipers are lighter than 4 pots. But rotors are heavier. Also the brembos have bigger pistons which means more pressure not other way around. Opposite is true for the Master cylinder. Brembos are far better with heat. I used to get uneven pad deposit on my rotors with 4 pots when towing down Hills and even fade. So they can be of use on the street.

yep adapter needed not sure about cert. Would you also need to cert Brembo setup if you put it on a gc8?

That was also my understanding of the piston size too. Isn't pad deposit and brake fade down to the pad your using? Never had much issue with endless pads, definitely no brake fade when using on street or during races on track.

They the same size pistons as a evo brembo, i've used genuine brembo seal kits for evos on both front and back of subby brembos, sorry can't remember the size but they are the same(same seals and same dust seal) so that might help someone looking to reseal theres as they can be had for little money, they run a bigger pad so they require a bigger piston for even pressure.. cast iron vs alloy.. I would image if you weighed the caliper and disk of brembo and subaru 4 pot front brakes the difference in weight would be very minimal between the 2.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
