No such thing as STI 4 pot calipers they're just painted red.

They'll bolt on but you'll need 294mm rotors.

huh? I thought the Subaru 4 pots came off a STi ver 3-4 (plus others) A standard version 3 or 4 had 2 pots, yes?.. would that not make the 4 pots an STI brake caliper maybe not STi made.. (technical issue maybe) but an Sti brake caliper? no.... .....

294mm rotors to fit them 47P is the offset on mine (machined the rotors if you don't buy new ones) if you need some, I have some plan 294mm rotor if needed (they will need machining) $40 for the pair.. good mod to do.. get some motul brake fluid 5.1 and good pads.. plus 1 and a half.

Cant remember the exact year, however some std WRX's had them fitted as standard fitment from about ver 3... (might have to google/wiki the year and version it started from).

The fourpots are also the same as the Nissan skyline fourpots and as found on Mazda's (and among others I believe the Toyota Prado has the same calipers as well??)

Black 4 pots were found on V4 WRX and mechanically are the same as the Red ones aformentioned so they are not an "STI" caliper but i see what you are trying to say. They made their first appearance on an STI.

Indeed, they are made by a company called Sumitomo

Sweet I was trying to remember the name of the manufacturer!

Also it is really easy (just time consuming and patience required) to turn your old black Subaru ones into Red ones...

Somebody one here did it (pre forum death that is)

Mad how much would machining be to get done? Also where could i get them slotted like yours and how much would that be?

never machined the OEM rotor that came with the caliper and they warped on me so I brought the Znoelli slotted rotors http://www.znoelli.co.nz/Discs_Sport.htm I think they costed me $325 - $335 for the pair.

Repco stock most the Subby rotors for cheap, funnily enough when i did the big brake upgrade on my wrx it cost almost twice as much to put 290mm disc on the back as it did the front.

I now have 290mm 4 pots on front and 290mm two pots on the back (which are actually a >01 year wrx disc). Stops rather well i must say.... and for a numbers comparision i knocked 3 secs off my lap time at teretonga form this mod alone.

How cheap is cheap? $100 $200?

Also how much effort goes into swapping rear brakes to bigger ones, there so small lol

Like try $50 for a pair for the front. The rears were $120 a pair in the 290mm with 170mm handbrake hub.

I can get the adaptors to make the rears on non sti diffs (r160's) to mount the two pots. You need the 290mm with 170mm hub tho. In fact i still need to make these sets up.

Before the site went down i had planned to make a few sets up and sell them off but havent got round to it.

Is that for slotted rotors? i could be keen for some of these adpeters? what do you need them for if you already have 2 pot rears?

You dont need them if you already have two pots. If you have two pots you have the r180 rear diff. The adaptor is for the upgrade from single slider rear brakes to two pots.

Oh sorry i meant why do YOU need to make them up as above you said u already have 2 pots? but i guess you have made your own for car and were thinking about making some to sell, how much would you sell these adapters for?

mite just do the front and leave the rears tiny for now, its only a street car after all

I only did it for the track but they ended up being so good i left them on. No worries with WOFs but only take 30mins to change over inc a bleed.

They should be certd though.

just to be clear, if someone was to swap the 294mm rotors and 4 pots on the front instead of the smaller/2 pots, this would have to be certed for a wof?

i think it would have to be certed, but really what WOF inspector would notice that? maybe if you have slotted rotors - a on to it inspector would pull you up.

Should be certed. I haven't had any issues with 4 pots and sloted rotors.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
