There some stuff from shellys call "knead it" its like a metal putty, when kneaded together with the inner compound it become hard as metal, you could use a wax to prevent the sticking to the key lock.

knead some together (soft) and use it to attach to the broken key bit once harden It may just pull out or pull out enough to get a pliers on to it..

(my 2 cents)

Umm lets see I've only been a locksmith for about 12years and I would say that i have seen people try this before and it will all end in tears and more money wasted. Be smart and take it to a locksmith my 5bucks worth :)

buy a new / secondhand lock and keys from a Subaru outlet or Subaru wreckers, pull out the old and replace.. simple.. forget the other shiznit I said it was a "Blond" moment

how about a magnet?... the lock itself is not attracted to magnets, so the key should come out.

This method worked on my Legacy boot lock, had a nice big magnet off an old sub laying around in the shed, placed on lock and it slid stright out.

I didnt have a rain shield (or whatever its called) on the tumbler for some reason though so that may be an issue in this case.

Keys are non magnetic

or alloy

but the brass ones are usually chrome plated which is magnetic:)

Never knew that, I really lucked out getting mine out it would seem.

Saved me a buck at the time.

i broke the key off in the boot lock of my gen1 leggy once.... went 'oh sh-t' for a bit, then realised it was a genuine original key. took key to locksmith, they used the code on the key to make a new one. sold car not long after, with key still stuck in boot.

about $15 for a new key.

Sooo I do this part time now & the boot lock is probably the simplest to get at & dismantle, or I have tools to hook bits out, any locksmith will too, safest bet to call one of these guys & girls near you rather than make life harder

But yeah the thread has some good advice

Record your Factory Key code this can also be found on the Driver door lock (interior removal required), a locksmith can cut a key from it in the event of LOST key, it's valuable so don't put it somewhere obvious & treat it like a Password

Broken keys can be re-cut on a good machine, my Local M10 sends people to me

Older Subaru's (pre '98 ish) use Dat13 Key Blanks : yeah Datsun! even older still use Datsun keys

Newer (98+ ish) NSN14 profile : NISSAN!

transponder chips & even newer track cut keys get expensive & check or ask your insurer as some do cover lost keys

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
