got all the jdm stuff out. Its a bit useless really so just rip it out and get proper stuff in.

As per the navi, somebody in trademe managed to get nz maps on an oem sat nav (not panasonic ones as pictured)

Would avoid the no-brand double DIN units personally. They're cheap enough but I find that it's not worth the hassle of putting one in when you usually end up replacing it anyway because [insert essential function here] doesn't work well or at all after a while.

Yeah true I'll look into putting a tablet where the touchscreen is currently , but I need to figure out a way to get it to boot up when I turn the car on , and also accept an input for the reverse camera.

This guy did a pretty good job.

harness behind the stereo has a wire (green one from memory) that is connected to the gps signal which doesnt allow to change the time. all you need to do is locate that wire and disconnect it and than you change the time to nz time. did couple of these for the dealers when these jdm models came in the country.

i'm in the process of doing the nexus 7 dash conversion.

there's a rom/kernel called Timur that enables deep sleep upon loss of charging.

you have the tablet hooked up to power behind the dash then when you start it up it wakes and vice versa when you turn off.

PM me if you want more details or a parts list, i'll try do a write up of the install when i begin it.

Pete

One caveat with the Nexus 7 dash mod: Nexus 7s are polarized to be visible in portrait while wearing polarized sunglasses, so when installed landscape you won't be able to see the screen with sunglasses on.

Faaaaaaak , yeah I realised this when I was using my phone as GPS in the work van the other day.

I have figured out how to set the time on circa 2004 Outback/Legacy.

Set the time:

The Japanese Navi system sets the time via GPS settings to Japanese time. There is a setting in the GPS menu to turn off allowing GPS to set the time. Turn off this setting, then disconnect the battery and you will be able to set the time when you reconnect the battery and turn the car on.

1. Go into the Navi menu
2. Press the button on the far right – Configuration

3. Press the System button, highlighted on the bottom:

4. Scroll through three screens, then toggle the bottom option, Clock Settings, to off. I believe this is the option that turns off GPS from setting the clock:

5. Disconnect and reconnect the car battery so you can get the option to set the time:

6. You will now need to turn off the annoying voice assistant. Go to Media and press the AV settings button, bottom left:

7. Select the second tab at the top of this screen:

8. Select the Audio output settings button in the middle of this screen:

9. Set the Voice Assistant to Off

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
