HELP! EJ205 Impreza wrx hose going no where!

Hi there, sorry for the noob questions but my wrx with an ej205 has a hose in the engine bay that goes no where, just wondering if anyone has any ideas, cheers.

Could be emissions thingummy valve rosssub will have the answer. Sure one of those 2 is for bov the other for that valve.

Shouldnt be open to vent should definitely be blanked off.

yeah the bigger one goes to the bov, the smaller one is the one im worried about. preious owner had a crappy boost gauge on it but just want to make sure he didnt cut some sort of compression circuit to achieve that. male? what do you mean by that? just a breather?

Its an emissions valve bolted to the mani above knock sensor iirc. Just blank the line off and leave solenoid thing plugged in if its still there. If its not chances are its thrown a code.

Yip, purge control solenoid hose as evowrx said. No CEL for the purge solenoid on version 5/6 so the solenoid can be ripped out.

finally had a look on the back of the manifold and theres already two hose's going into it, but fuel economy and performance is good from what ive felt while driving.

The purge control solenoid is for emissions more than economy/power. It gives manifold vacuum to the charcoal canister/fuel tank through a breather line, so the engine burns off any petrol vapour from the tank.

Normally one hose from the purge solenoid connects to the bottom metal fuel pipe, coming from the charcoal canister/fuel tank line:

Then the other hose from the purge solenoid connects straight to the intake manifold. Your second purge solenoid hose might be venting to atmosphere somewhere, so that the manifold port could be used for a boost gauge.
