Joker was here!

at the moment i have standard vf20 primary and vf19 secondary which is a bit stif so may be on the way out

would a good upgrade be vf33 and vf32?

what are the differences between them? there isnt much info around for the Twin turbos i know that the vf26-27 are the best for top end just wondering how the vf33 and 32 compare

cheers

Yea I found some cheap and as a result I am 50kw less

'upgrade' to VF31 Primary and VF27 Secondry, from VF 18/19 BG OEM combo (previously 185 Kw on Chequered Flag Hub Dyno)

mix/matched pair 'may' be a factor, so could the second hand nature of the items... OR it could be something else completely (car approaching 190,000 km's)

all in all less kW may mean it lives longer and remains slightly more reliable?

No, it's VF18 primary, and 19 secondary :). They are good turbo's for the TT's, the only worthy update that doesn't involve single turbo's is the VF26/VF27 combo.

I also found the BG5's came with VF16/17's too

But yeah, AFAIK stock turbo's for the manual RSB/GTB's are the 18/19 combo. But if you say it has VF20 printed on it... well, i won't dispute that!

Where have these odd turbo's been hiding <_<

FYI, my 98 GTB Limited (Model year 97, so same as yours) had the VF18 and 19 combo. Manual and EJ20R too.

just thinking there are alot of cheap td04 turbos on trademe how hard would it be to make a td04 fit in the secondary turbo position of a twin turbo? i can do all the fab work etc

is it as simple as modify the up pipe so the control valve sits lower to make the adaptor plate i need to fit the td04 and use the oil and water lines and make it work but the thing that gets me is what about the plastic intake?

would it work if i say cut the plastic and used a silicon joiner there on top of the plastic to the turbo intake as its only an air intake it doesnt have pressure and should seal up properly? only thing im worried about is a load of vod trying to spool that puupy up at 4k

VF25

Primary turbocharger used on the JDM Legacy B4. Utilizes a thrust-bearing design and a P12 exhaust housing.

VF26

This is the standard equipment primary turbocharger used on the JDM Legacy B4. Utilizes a divided thrust-bearing design and a P14 exhaust housing.

Anyone care to explain the difference in these two both are for BH B4/GTBs but Im not sure which one to get.

does the car feel alot slower than before with the other turbos?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
