Hello all!

Hey guys just recently bought my sf5 forester which is also my first ever subby. Absolutely love the car just had a couple of questions.

Cant seem to find one with the search but is there a comprehensive post about what is and isn't interchangeable from impreza (wrx/sti) to foresters?

And also i have tracked down the sti injectors, ecu and maf. I also have a td06 20g, if i keep the boost at a relatively sedate 10 - 14psi will the over all increase in air volume still require tuning or will it be all good?

Cheers

What year is the foz? Or pics would help just host on photobucket or the like and paste the img tag on your post. Td06 20g will need a tuneable ecu and bigger injectors to be worth doing. If you dont you will end up with a slower car with soggy response. Likely blow the bottom end with the bigger turbo too.

If its v3/4 throw sti stuff onto it including a vf## and should be fine but kiwi fozze will confirm.

Yeah, bugger.

Some of the sf5b foresters have a purple sticker AFM, others have yours, which is v5 era ECU and AFM. These really don't like mods, unfortunately the orange AFM/yellow injectors/ECU swap is off the cards.

You can swap in a vf22/23/24/30/34 turbo with no issues, as i'm sure you will have noticed it running out of puff at about 4500rpm

Unfortunately, to really squeeze some impressive power out of these, or extensive mods, you'll need to go to a link ECU, or a reflash through STM

Is the non sti v5/6 a7 ecu an upgrade? Seen people saying the foz ecu is detuned further. Throw a vf24/28/29/39 on it itll suit ecu better.

Not stumbled across it myself, but its worth a shot. I know for a fact the j2 ECU has audible detonation at idle because of the difference in CR

Guess factory figures would tell all. Know our p2 2000 foz was far slower than v5 wrx and wasnt just weight related. Yep j2 wreaks havoc pita that.

Rear swaybar even just swapping to wrx one will help handling a ****load.

Mines pretty sacked at the moment. Want to raise it a little but not all the way back to factory height. I can get really good prices on suspension but just not sure what to get. Im not too fussed about making it a rocket ship. Just want it to go a little harder and handle like a demon.

Rev b *might*

Rev c does

Rev d is totally reflashable.

Forester struts with low springs, or impreza struts with lift springs will set you about right.

But yeah, big swaybars, front and rear strut bracing, a k brace in the front, in fact all of the chassis bracing LOL

I've got a Rev C and was under the impression the only way to tune was through a Link ECU - are you saying there's a way to reflash the stock ECU?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
