Gave the Mrs a way tamer tune than the one he got.

This sounds like the go xD

Was hoping to utilize the "Eco" button for a really economic tune, lowest boost setting possible, lowest power output possible and then turning "Eco" off would be a full 27ish psi tune :D

That would be ideal for me.

You can get a couple of different maps on the red D style with the SI drive correct?

Heck 27psi sounds higher than required for what youre after. Any medium frame gt30 sized snail should deliver at 20-22psi. High boost wont work all that well with the 2.5 even with high flowing hotside.

Can you just put a switch inline to turn off boost solenoid?

27ish. I'll let the tuner sort all of that out.

You mean chuck a switch inline so I can switch off the solenoid and run wastegate pressure only?

Yep its how i did mine when i didnt have enough inputs.

Running 98 you stand a better chance with higher boost but better to just put the right sized turbo on. Just clear turbo choice and setup with the guy whos tuning it before you buy up large.

Not really sure where to put this question but it might aswell go here aha.

Almost finished my engine build.

Question is, who's the "Tuner of choice" (Lower North Island) on here? I've had very good reviews from STM by family however that was where Andre was running the show, now that Phil's taken over I've heard a few "Not so good" things.

Curious who you guys would get to tune your build?

Always wondered how good they are at tuning stock ECU's as opposed to Links? Like boost by gear and other features like that not used in the stock tune

Most tuners dont even bother with stock ecus. Normally hear bad things fast if they do tune them and make a hash if it. D1style had his tuned recently as did ajt no complaints.

The person doing the majority of the tuning at STM has been Chris Wall for at least a couple of years now, from well before Andre left.

Can't see much having changed... the only major difference is they sold their dyno and brought Phil's one down from Taranaki, even then it's just a bigger, newer Dynapack.

I would have no hesitation getting either STM or DTech to work on mine...

Feel free to pop in sometime, I'm more than happy to address any concerns you may have and talk about your build and expectations etc.

We are running a special next month that may just interest you!

Regards

Phil

Just wanted to say that I went on a little trip to see Phil at Speedtech.

We had a good little chat and he seems like a really good/cool guy. We ended up putting the "Not so good" things I've heard down to poor quality control by others and a few people I know being a little sour over the price increase of the tune.

I have no problem about the price increase (If you do good work, you deserve to get paid good money for it IMO) and I will be taking it to Speedtech to get tuned. I will give a bit of a review on the tune in my build thread once it's all done. Untill that it's a waiting game!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
