3" stainless turbo back bolt on kit for $499, is somthing wrong with it? Seems too cheap

Used one of these kits on my old GF8 (obviously not the forrester kit)

Gearbox mount is a good 1 to 2 inches away from the gear box - needs extending or a long bolt with spacer.

Had to bend one of the mid section tabs to meet exhaust mount (pair of beefy pliers)

Apart from that it was all good.

I never bothered mounting it to the gearbox properly

What's the laws around having a catalytic converter? This kit doesn't have one.

Just roll with it. Chances of the WOF man picking up on it are slim to none

Worst case if you do get pinged, you weld one in later

If pipe proves to be fally aparty, you has consumerer guarantees act

It won't explode... it may not fit properly and it may not last too long and it may sound like **** and it may reduce power.

Probably will be fine though.

The biggest problem you're about to run into is that they no longer sell that product, only the WRX kits.

I wanted one for mine this time last year and they said they no longer stocked the Forester kits nor could they get them at all.

Disappointing that they still haven't removed it from their website

i've got one on my GC8, works fine; sounds loud: doesn't leak, rear hangers line up(hefty angle but) the clamp for around the muffler hanger doesn't meet up on the GC8, doesn't really matter- weight reduction, I think most everything else lined up or was close.

Bottom line, I've passed a wof with it (Also comes with a bolt in wof passer a.k.a silencer) it looks good enough and comes with an up pipe that someone might wanna buy, but it has a couple of good flanges on it and a wee flexi so could be useful if you have a tig to weld stainless

Haha I guess so, pleased to hear they will be a viable option again after lots of emails basically telling me there were no alternatives unless I wanted to pay a premium price.

Too bad I sold the car though
