2.5 daydream question

So, IF my car doesn't sell, at some point said car is going to need a new motor

Call me a sucker for punishment, but I have a half assed daydream idea of building a budgo spec 2.5 motor and keeping it twin

Thoughts:

A) IDGAF about big power level (To me this is more than 230wkw-ish), car is a daily which will never see a drag strip, and nothing more exciting than daily fangs onto an onramp.

B) I'm not spending large on a super tough forged motor, reasons being a) why and b) I don't want to, I'd rather buy the RS4 I dream about instead

C) I like easy driving motors, like a car which feels strong with normal use, not just full throttle above 4k

Ideas:

A) Existing setup in all regards, other than more capacity. Turbos will be the chokepoint with this, but it'd be a starting point?

B) As above but bumping up to something more suitable - TD04's, VFsomethinglittles, T25's, whatever - keep twin turbo arrangement purely as an F-U Internet gesture

C) Just put a 20G or single what-have-you on and stop making life difficult

It's more the "what's the best way to do this" question or more to the point the "you're an idiot" angle

Alternative to all the above is just put in a mad short RA spec gearbox and help it do things easier. Second gear stretches to 105kmh so the thing is handicapped to begin with

Just get a povo spec 2.5 phase 1 shortie from pickapart, gtb heads, ej257 pistons and wrx rods. Cost f all and support your meddling. My 2.5 with a td05 20g 7cm was insaneo down low. 20psi 3k under load. Spool like a mofo and if only wanting povo low power just taper boost so you dont choke it out.

If stay twins get biggest turbine and housings you can.

Maybe I need to reword a little too

What's the simplest lego-partsbin way to make a 2.5 turbo motor

- Do I need any specific heads to suit the V7 style manifold my car has (I have no idea what interchanges)

- Are there any better or worse cams I should look towards acquiring, AVCS isn't an option, or is it not worth worrying about for dem gainz you get (considered against likelihood of me effing something up)

- WRX rods, EJ257 pistons, stock crank, cross fingers, ???, profit?

Plan would be twin something-small-and-identical and yes, still run sequential - unless parallel turns out to work good then ok sure I'd do that

Would like to stick with twin purely for the sake of having inlet pipe and downpipes to suit it already, and seeing how well it *can* work tuned right, and

Plan B is just bolt on to existing 2L as per A_J_T and enjoy zututu

2.5 shortie at pickapart prices.

Use the 2.5 crank.

Use wrx rods v7- sti the better one or more the ones you should buy. -100.

Ej257 pistons. -200-400 ish used or new.

Need p2 heads yours will do fine just diegrind the comb chamber to match bore.

on a more related note.. genuinely interested in this idea. could use a couple of VF32's and fit P18 ex housings for flow? But then you would have to mod the down pipes to fit the new housings.. parallel would make more sense wouldn't it, or keen to optimize this sequential thing Subaru once dreamt up?

I dont see the point or need to wring anything daily driven or anything with no puff up top to 8k but for arguments sake mine hits the limiter bang on 8k.

back on topic: how much more exhaust gas would a 2.5 push? The twins in stock form seem to flow pretty good in the higher rpm and with a bit of exhaust work the stock Rev-d VF32/33 setup might go alright on a 2.5 who knows. Still can’t believe its even being discussed though haha

Look at your dyno sheet there is no point in 6.5k-. A 2.5 causes issues coz youre already battling with the long header which means you either have high egbp/low mid power or low egbp/mid high power. Couple that with extra displacement and you really need to get it right.

For markys scheme it will prob work fine then just taper boost.

There is an incredibly rare UDSM closed-deck 2.2. Was an odd Legacy option, I feel like maybe it was a non-intercooled turbo wagon-only model?

I think i remember reading a while back that Alastair ( Raijin ) scored one of these for his Sti coupe....i could be wrong??

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
