NEED HELP BH5 SINGLE TURBO

gtb

Recommended Posts

Hey just converted my bh5 1999 legacy to single turbo

Won't let me boost has sometimes a ruff idle have checked for air leaks and fuel pressure spark plugs was put on an analyzer computer it said it was the air flow temp sensor so I replaced air flow meter but still the analyzer reads the air temp to be like 205 degrees or somthing wen the engine reads 37 degrees wen I start it any ideas my next step is coils but sometimes the car just won't start and wen it does pops and farts then then goes again didn't think coils would give simp dims like that

Cheers will check tomorrow it's giving all the (symptoms) lol as a faulty airflow meter I pulled the plug off it today to see if it would stall and it did I also had an old fuked meter I put that on to see if it would run worse and it did also bring up check engine light so went all out bort a new one engine light went out but still not good very confusing

Ok so it says air temp sensor is the problem

You replaced it and it's still the problem

Weird, must be wiring

Is this a problem which started after you fiddled with it, or is it something which has just happened out of nowhere

It ran swt for about a day then started to play up I keep putting it on the analyzer every day keeps bringing a different code up today was o2 sensor the computer I'm running was a bit corroded so I just replaced it today made no difference just has a Lil up and dwn idle and won't let me get much boost before it starts popping and farting day before yesterday the analyzer said map sensor was playing up so I got another one of those. I can smell it running real rich just changed the plugs before witch I already changed bout a week ago and they were fowed up I keep looking for air leaks can't find nothing I would think it was the coil playing up wen it comes on boost but the funny idle rich smell hmmmm

45 covers the MAP sensor and the atmospheric pressure change solenoid.

Are you still using the BBOD?

Rosssub']Sweet. So on the drivers strut tower should be:

Boost solenoid.

MAP sensor.

Atmospheric pressure change solenoid.

Are all 3 plugged in and plumbed up properly?

I think so im running a boost tap as well

Did you do the conversion wiring yourself? To use a forester solenoid/MAP/pressure change solenoid, you would need to modify/rewire the original BBOD loom, or the pressure change solenoid cant be plugged in.

Yes i did .i done ecu reset and it was goin great .i drove it for about 100k on the open road had no falt or anything .then when i slowed down to about 50k and went to take off it did it again . Do you think its a vacuum leak.

Sweet, more likely a boost leak or too much boost. What psi are you running?

To check for boost leaks. Either spray ether (starter fluid) or anything highly flammable around any possible vac/boost leak spots. If any fluid gets sucked in the idle rpm will change straight away.

Or block the intake off at the AFM end, then pump 10-15 psi into the intake manifold through a vac hose. The system should hold pressure perfectly. Any air/boost leaks will hiss and be obvious.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
