Japan - shopping for bits

Has any one been to Japan and purchased any car parts/goodies?

Heading over there for a holiday next week and wondering if there are any shops I could check out.

I've seen Up Garage on Mighty Car Mods. Know of any others?

Ideally I'd get some rims, but shipping might be a problem.

Yes, omg, upgarage is something else. There's a heap of them around and one of them in the suburbs of Tokyo is solely Subaru parts, full of rare goodness, I got a pair of Chargespeed widebody front guards there. It's about an hour on the train out of Tokyo then maybe a half hour walk. It's almost all used parts. Pricing varies from unbelievably cheap for some bits (basically anything OEM and desirable except Brembos), to really expensive.

The "new" parts shops are a bit of a waste of time, maybe visit one just 'cos they're enormous and slightly amazing but quite expensive and generally only cater to the latest and greatest models.

Upgarage has loads of rims, the "head office" had basically an entire showroom of them and the pricing was very good on most sets however you will pay $$$$ to get them back here, can't really help with that, I just wrapped my guards in tons of cardboard then told Qantas they were sporting equipment.

EDIT: Get the Hibiya line (Or Chiyoda) to Kitasenju, hop on the Tobu-Skytree line, get off at Kita-Kasukabe, follow your nose - by which I mean take a printed map, and make sure you have data on your mobile for further maps

Edit more: I will add that it is pretty small and pokey compared to most of the stores but it is rammed with Subaru awesomeness.

If you have room in your luggage they have JDM brand blow off valves really cheap usually, you could fill your suitcase with a few and make some profit back here.
