LED indicators: flasher relays?

Hi Team,

 

Has anyone dealt with hyperflash problem with LED indicators installed instead of incandescent light bulbs?

 

I know there's a few solutions:

• load resistors at each light
• flasher relay adopted for LEDs
• wire in a normal light bulb and hide it behind the lights (yep, have seen that as well :D) 

 

Can those relays be obtained locally and if so from where?

If you go the resistor route make sure they are damn good quality and have a nice heatsink, they can get hot real quick , more than enough to melt things. Relays would be my preference , not sure where locally though sorry! Got mine ages ago for old car via eBay

@Invisible recommended me the TapTurn flasher relay.
Unfortunately it doesn't support gen 3 and only supports gen 4 and 5 Legacy.

Relays are my preferred option anyway mainly because of the ease of installation and no heat issues. 

 

By local I mean NZ.

 

There's plenty of cheap relays on ebay/aliexpress, people report mixed results with some delays or lock/unlock indication not working properly.

The TapTurn relay has some cool features like one touch signalling, arrival/departure lighting, directional park lights.
Most settings are customisable and can even be turned off.

Yeah seen that as well - US$89 shipped without tracking, three weeks to arrive. farq that :}

@Invisible has had is for over a year now iirc. No problems that I know of.
I'd happily spend the money if it worked with my car
