V5 STI won't go into any gear

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Moved the car into the garage on Saturday fine, went to go to work Monday morning and it wouldn't go into gear. Clutch feels normal, hasn't fallen to floor and doesn't feel any softer than usual. Clutch fluid seems normal, no leaks or fluid on the floor.

Help :( doesn't help that car is down a steep driveway in a small garage either...

Pressing clutch down DISengages the clutch, which will feel normal whether your clutch is gone or not, when you release the clutch it grips the flywheel, if its not gripping the flywheel when you release the clutch id say your clutch is poked breh

just re read your post actually dunno

Yep something clutch related. Sorry Im not much of a mechanic but that should narrow it down a bit. Pull the slave off and check the fork movement. Personally I would just drop the box but I like to do things the hard way.

Cheers for the help mate. Decided its above my level of knowledge. WIll be sorting a tow to SubTech today.

if there are no leaks and the pedal feels normal/hydraulics are all working etc it sounds like the clutch disk is stuck to the flywheel. sometimes they can kinda fuse to the flywheel for no apparent reason. if they sit for ages i've seen it happen or if its overheated and parked, maybe moister and a little rust develops overnight similar to what brakes do idk if you have experienced that either but handbrake sometimes seize on overnight under the correct conditions. A real backyard way of sorting it is start the car and rip it into revers with a very sudden but firm pull. That usually shocks the disk off the flywheel, or screws revers gear. seen it done once in desperation and it worked a treat haha

Has to be revers, no synchros on revers gear

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
