V7 Wheel sizes

Subru

Recommended Posts

What wheel specs am I looking for to get as wider wheel as possible without coilovers or spacers. Wondering weather I upgrade soon or hang on until I get coilovers in the future. Would like 8.5 wide or near that, I got 7 now so it would be a nice upgrade.

If you are running the be/bh style sti wagon gold's, those are 7 inch.

The diverging spoke "v7" wheels people bang on about are 7.5 wide.

I know of people running up to an 8.5 18 inch rims in the states, but they do a fair whack of guard rolling.

I know you can fit 17x8 +48's (the v9/10 enkei rim size) without too much issue

I had to roll the lip on my sedan in the rear to fit 17x8's with a fairly square 235/45R17. And they are obviously wider in the arse end.

I think a x8 is a going to be about the limit without pulling the guards or running potato-spec amounts of camber.

"Coilovers"/adjustables (the stock struts are coilovers.....) aren't going to mystically allow you to run a wider rim/tyre either.

I'm running 18x8 with 42p offset on my wagon, although tires are slightly stretched at 215, I'm sure I'd be able to get a 225 without rolling.

Currently on Tein lowered Springs.

I've been told I would be able to get away with a 9, but that would be cutting it fine with rubbing etc.

Crappppp. I am looking at going 18x8.5 on STi struts and Pink springs on my wagon and what I had been looking up it was looking I could get away with that, ah well.

I'd say you'll probably be good with maybe just a roll in the rear. My wheels are sitting wider with the sedan track width and I still think there is room for an 8 inch wide wheel in there with the rear guards rolled. It all depends on the offset.

Was looking at +35 offset to hopefully clear Brembo's if I go that route in future, but tbh it would just be more cosmetic so I could drop back to +45

I would say that 18*8 +45 would work no problem. With a +35 I would say that it may poke beyond the rear guard could perhaps fit with some work. (24.4mm more poke than v7 STI wheel)

18*8 +45 vs 17*7.5 +53

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=45&diameter=17&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=53&width2=225&aspect2=40&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=8&offset2=45

When compared with v7 sti wheel which fits for me being 10mm wider on either side. As long as you are prepared to roll the rear guard I would say anything up to 8.5 wide with appropriate offset would be fine.

Have 18x8.5 +44 on my 04 wagon, have no issues. Got the guards rolled as a precaution as I was told I might have rubbage but it's nowhere near. Also have 215s on there but am waiting for them to wear out so I can go 225. To much stretch for my liking.

Running Tein Super Streets.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
