That's a bloody good effort for a first go at building a box!

I'll be interested to see how it changes how it sounds.

Cheers 😎.

I have a bunch more/better mdf so im tempted to make some different designs just for fun.

If you do make a second one use some nut inserts or there are cheaper ones that hammer in from the back.

Plus through some bracing through the middle. If you are being super accurate then add it’s volume to the box size.

Also ratchet straps are good for clamping things while waiting for glue to dry. Though usually when you have 45 degree cuts to join.

Forgot to mention above that I installed the sub yesterday and have used it a little bit since. Definitly a lot louder especially at lower frequencies and if I turn if up my mirror shakes a whole bunch more than it used to. However sometimes, usually in the mid/higher frequencies (for the sub) it goes real quiet and lacks the punch it used to.

We're talking about like 350w here. 18mm MDF isn't going to move, don't worry about bracing it. Nutserts, each to their own, I've only used them with ridiculous systems where the sub was coming in and out a lot.

Curious, the DD designs usually tune quite high (40hz is standard for them) so should be quite a punchy box. One thing to try is removing the polyfill from the box as this will make it behave like it's larger than it actually is. Other thing to check is that your low-pass filter isn't set ridiculously low, I'd aim for somewhere around 80-100hz, try turning it up just a little and see how that affects the sound.

If the line is the indicator, then it's either set to like 70hz, which I would consider quite low, or about 150hz, which I would consider quite high. If it's currently on the low side, try setting it right in the middle, should give you roughly 100hz. Maybe a pinch to the left, approx 11 o'clock.

Did that. Pretty sure that fixed it.  Sounds awesome haha.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
