Pre purchase inspection advice on 08 GT?

Hi guys,

 

Im looking to purchase an 08 BP5 2.0t, 5EAT privately and im viewing it today, just wondering what are the big things to look out for? Has 79kms on it.

 

Any advice much appreciated, cheers.

Inner control arm bushes and trailing arm bushes are the most common things that perish on those cars

Cheers, all looks good on it. It has part leather seats with Alcantara inserts? Ive never seen this on a GT before? also keyless entry, with starter button and large alloy column mounted shifters. Was all this an option or is it a Spec B?

What exhaust tips does it have? Dual or quad?

A few special editions got the alcantara inserts but haven't seen a standard GT or Spec B with it before. 

The rest of those things are standard for that year. The front bumper is the easiest defining feature of a Spec B, will look like this with the wide fog light inserts.

Nothing extraordinary in this department though. Push start/keyless entry was introduced in MY08, shifters even earlier in MY06.

Ahh think you might have cracked it, it doesn't have the Spec B front, has dual single exhaust tips, but interior is just like that Urban Selection model, its much nicer interior than my old 04 3.0r had for sure.

Did you go through with the purchase? I have a 2008 Legacy GT and its a good car.

Yep and love it! Wish I had bought one of these first time around...here she is, stereo has had the centre console double din conversion which is nice, needs couple things like new rims and towbar (if anyone has one going?..) but pretty happy as is.
