Lamco gauge / sensors

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I bought some Lamco gauges on ebay and am trying to source the appropriate sensors. I have Boost, volt and oil temp on my cluster.

Can anyone point me in the right directions? I'll also need the wiring diagram.

There are loads of threads about these gauges but they are all old and the parts they show arent around anymore.

I've read defi sensors work but im not paying 200 plus shipping, the gauges are already costing me 550$ to get to nz...

Any local suppliers of sensors or people in NZ that have knowledge about these gauges I'd love to talk to.

Cheers

Luke

As far as I'm aware Defi is what you're looking for. I got mine from North Shore Toyota (which is the Defi agent near me) but dpending on what sensor you're missing you can get aftermarket made Defi Sensors off eBay, and sometimes they appear on trademe.

Which Lamco set did you get? I'm after another set to match the ones in my WRX

Are you 100% certain its oil temp? I've got what sounds like the same gauges and its air temp (i ran it as intake temp). from memory the gauges goes from -30 to ~50c

You are right it is air temp. Any idea what I need to get that going?

On my black face set of Lamco gauges, mine is oil temp. I can't say I have ever seen one measuring air temp before. What range of tempratures does yours read? If its the same range as wabbits ones that seems very low for oil :S

I should have the guide i used to install mine somewhere on my other pc. What kind of wiring are you missing? Usually theyre like this..5QruCgJm.jpg

And that installs in between the radio harness. Then just a hose into the engine bay off a tee from boost line for the boost gauge, and then a sensor for oil temp. Either the Lamco style ones which replaces the sump plug (which isnt the best as it can get easily damaged and also can be cooled by air flowing over it at speed) or using a defi sensor and using the bung off the back of the engine block under the intercooler.

I have a set of these too which I have just wired into the car and now I need to install the sensors. This oil temp bung, is this the one on top of the block at the back on cylinder 3? I am thinking it could be heaps tidier using this than the sump plug.

Its tidier, and a lot more accurate. IIRC cyl 3 is the one that gets the hottest, so thats the one you want to track anyway.

If you don't have the threaded bung, you can grab one off any subaru pretty much from pick a part, as the same one is used for the oil pressure sensor under the alternator on every EJ motor.

I don't have the loom that you attach to the radio harness. But I think I can make that no problem. I really need the/an ambient air temp sensor... I saw your old post about what you found on ebay but the link is dead. What did you search for? And what year Ford did you knick from? Thanks heaps mate

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
