Aftermarket top mount intercooler

Hey guys, plan on buying this top mount intercooler but its for a wrx sgt 08-13. I'm pretty sure the sgt 08-13 and legacy bp5 2004+ are basically identical so it should fit. Can anyone confirm this? cheers.

Fitment to the engine will be fine as the same style turbo and intake manifold are used but the shroud shape and dimensions will be all wrong for the Legacy hood scoop.

Oh thats good news. Yeah I thought the scoop would be directed wrong. Wouldn't it still flow air normally as before since the intercooler is still in the same location. Maybe if I cut the plastic off the inside of the scoop will help?

It’ll still work but without shrouds covering the core properly you'll have a heap of air going around it rather than through, or if you extend the factory shroud you’ll give up some of the new cores surface area. I'm sure you could with some trial and error merge that shroud to the factory one to get the best flow across the whole core

You don't need the air to hit the whole surface for it to work... there will be the same amount of air coming through the scoop.

As long as the air is forced to go through the IC and can't go around it... you are good.
