2022 WRX released.

As always it's a controversial look that splits people somewhat down the middle, with the majority seemingly disliking it initially but for the most part I quite like it.

The front, side and interior are quite nice but the rear end lower plastic piece is a bit weird with the extra depth compared to the rest of the body. Some form of semi functional diffuser on the STI might make it look a bit nicer but I doubt they'll change anything.

Yes too much black plastic at the back, and around the car in general.

The engine bay is interesting. Not sure that I am a huge fan of having an oil filter as one of the first things to see in the engine bay. I can see one of the first mods for people being and oil filter with the STI logo on the top/bottom of it.

Look forward to the STI

Third generation? Surely it's way more than that... how is it different to the current WRX?

Yeah not entirely sure on that. It isn't even really the 3rd gen since it became a standalone model which kind of came about with the VA chassis, with the GR still having the same basic body as the Impreza which just moved to a new body way earlier than the WRX/STI.

I agree. The front looks sharp, the rear reminds me of a honda and the black wheel arch pieces look odd. Cant see young people buying these. Maybe thats what the Sti is for :D

Depending on how the sheetmetal is made behind it there is potential for quick swap moderate flares that actually match the body unlike 95% of current kits out there though.

I was going to get the GR Yaris but we got the low spec model with no LSD etc.

Well there is actually a few here in NZ with the Circuit Pack (thats the one with the LSDs etc), you just need to look for the ones with the lightweight 10-spoke wheels like this:

Looks like subaru America design team legacy grill to look like a truck

SUV wheel arches

rear diffuser like the Toyota did to Camry “inspired by nascar” s***.

guess that why 3rd gen as they never got the early wrx.

They still got the GD gen for WRX’s didn't they? Which would make this by that logic the 4th gen.

NZ new got the best spec !

Circuit pack F+R LSDs plus the satnav, JBL stereo etc of the Comfort pack

:)

Most of the stupid priced imports are low spec.

Avoid.

I've decided the nasty plastic trim on the wheel arches are great, will be easy to unclip/unbolt and put on a decent looking/functional set of aftermarket fender flares

Also looks exactly as it should in the traditional livery rendering

Decent looking as a hatchback that will never exist alas

Also as a hot wagon that will never exist (but we have the Levorg which is rumored to get the 2.4, shame there is no 6 speed manual)

When I was at Toyota dealer the spec sheet they showed me was the poverty model so I dropped off the list.
still the Sti is going to be way faster.

That might have been pre-release info.

In JDM land there are 3 versions, including a 1.5 NA FWD with 10-speed CVT

🤣

I drove the black car in my pic above, it's one of the original TNZ press cars.

Faster and better handling than the current STI.

😄

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
