Sorry if you have thought of this already.

 

Before you approach anyone make sure you have a good written presentation. With cost breakdown and what sponsors get for the money.

I know some companies get dozens of applications a week for sponsors and having seen some, most are utter s***. Like I’m great, give me money and they haven’t got better in decades.

 

There are good ones in a few pages but the best are a dozen or more with easy summary first then details broken down.

Its a what we can do for your sponsorship dollar sales brochure really.

For race teams they have driver page with history of racing events even if it’s a kart racer getting into real cars etc.

list of social media accounts or platforms they are active on.

Good excuse the rework a history topic or create a dedicated sub forum for sponsors to see without login.

 

If you want track day etc don’t forget to have a map with areas of signage and named location. The banner sizes they can display in each etc. Tent areas if they wish to bring and setup a stand etc.

Anything like a PA system and MC can then use the sponsor name when talking about eg the LINK panic area bbq is now serving…

Can you have cars on track require a big sticker on a window etc so the

at every photo helps promote the sponsor long after the event.  
That also includes things like sending the top sponsors little awards or framed certificates thanking them.  For them to display in their showroom or meeting areas etc. 
 

Oh and a timetable for setup and breakdown if you have need for them.

 

More generic sponsorship like tires etc maybe and option. Then there’s just generic like spark who did early lead foot sponsorship with extra cell towers etc since cell coverage was non existent.

 

If you are at any events before go ask the people at sponsor booths etc what they lie and dislike about the event.

so not to brush ya off (as it has been a while since I done stuff like this)

 

I still need to confirm cost of venue or even basic availability

 

that's Stage 1 : the Organiser of the ECC event is getting back to me soon (got a bit on at moment)

 

so we do not clash, or double up events in quick succession etc (you may spot a few CS'er in the above ECC Photo album)

 

also to get a run down of how they did it, and join for 2026 to get a preview

 

and short story is I still have Shelly's Phone Number in my pocket when I volunteered 2x weeks there, I was 1 of 2 main guys Setting up & packing down with Rod

 

he may remember me and I have no Qualms going direct

 

and we even had an invite to the Mineshaft Wine cellar for Rod's friends BBQ while they were building their House

 

 I was in the Thames Car Club 'timing caravan' updating the LED Screen during event from Start-line,

 

"Back in the day" I used to Hire & run Our Track days @ Taupo and Manfeild under my name and Auto-X's and 1/4 Mile sprints (Drags) with Dannevirke Car Club 

 

(my way of saying "with kindness" : this isn't my 1st Rodeo hah ❤️ )

 

We've had 'loot' from Subaru NZ and Bridgestone before  (and Crowesport, and PBMS in the early FlatNATS years when they let me be involved)

 

BUT you sound like you've got a job proof reading or handling that side hah welcome to the TEAM 

 

Falgz and I had a chat this morning & we'll focus on 1 day there for now HardPark Style just get together Driveway cruises Tour and a relaxed weekend

 

perhaps a "Gumboot rally" style tiki tour there departing PBMS perhaps

 

I'm focusing on Cost for now, there may be an entry fee etc

 

 

Image taken in the week after event there, he almost DNF'd a run going sideways across finish line clipign a tree with LR taillight (I found it and gave it back to him later)  I was in the Timing Caravan updating the LED Board with info

 

the majority of volunteers turned up day before and left day after ❤️ 

 

this was the #wrx25nz weekend where the Majority of 'winners' were our forum members hah 2017

 

I'd really like to visit Madlab on Day 2 perhaps tie in with an event there (or Tect Park / Thunder Ridge)

So for now I have spoken to Falgz (HardPark) & G8R (Gumboot Rally)

 

I'll be aiming for a :1 day low key event similar to the ECC setup below their Entry was $320 (they had 50 ish cars = $16k)

 

Day 2 is optional but will be a Chill BBQ on the Beach maybe?

 

• arrive between 8&9am
• couple or Tiki tours before Supplied Lunch
• after lunch you go for it, if you fall off he keeps your car

 

I'm still painfully waiting to hear back from ECC organiser (Busy person) as they have their "foot in the door" and on inital contact was happy to help

 

I don't want to clash, or run 2x event in the same month etc

Literally bought a seperate Diary (old man) and sorted a 2027 Calendar for this

 

(did you know you can re-use your 2021 Wall Planner as it is an exact match!)

 

I'm jotting down 'every' car event in 25-26 that I can see so we can try plan one that doesn't overlap as well

 

these include "Americana, Beach Hop's & Chome's" (I'm thinking MrWest might like to come too etc

 

I see Car-nival and AutoFEST are on the same weekend this year : why do they do that?!?!? Yes different Crowds but yeah

 

IF we don't go LF just yet (the silence is worrying me) we'll still do something Special

 

as I fear there may be a deposit required to secure the location & a bit "Chicken & Egg" at moment

 

ie : hard to get sponsors for an event, without an event etc

 

and yeah Not sure if it's been mentioned Sponsors like Prrizes not $$$ so that WILL be a Struggle so there will be an Entry fee at this stage

 

$300~ish for those that wanna 'run'

AND / or a Koha of some kind to get in the gate etc for those that turn up late

Nz Hondas are still pretty active and run their own track days, I think 

 

there’s also that MOD/Mitsubishi owners day/track day 

 

if all else fails could be worth reaching out to them

Only if your looking at leadfoot, the lower highway has been one way during road works before and backs up for hours with just normal local traffic.

Yeah I was with 2 rally drivers in a Land Cruiser so zero f***s were given on the way home. Others had 4-5 hour longer journey,
