There's no point, no-one here would know what a BK was if it ran them over. I've been having a PM discussion with him on the subject.

Due mainly to disinterest, I only know that a BK4 is an NA Wagon with a SOHC 2.2

Can never hurt to have too much knowledge.

Like if you got bored, you could hack a GM6 into a rally car. For those in the dark, that is a US-spec N/A Impreza coupe, not too dissimilar to our GC1 Retna. Saves hacking up a Type R.

I honestly think you're better off converting your car, as you'll be converting the GT when it blows.

would cost about $15,000 to get my body fixed, repainted, engine swap, brake swap, trans swap, bigger rims and tires. So thats why I want to buy a JDM one.

You could just buy it. what is the worst that can go wrong?

you get upset as its breaks down?

you blow up the engine - BEB?

Turbo Overspool to death?

BBOD kicks in?

CODE 66?

(all of which is fixable with $$$$$$$)

At the end of the day it comes down to you!

:-\ It's not that much of an upgrade though, anything else with a turbo is gonna poo on it unless you take a few steps up. The old 20H is unremarkable, as are the brakes and suspension that come with the non-GTB.

But it's your cash I guess...

but they have that charm. Makes it all worth it in the end. Consider the car's he's driving at the moment, the remarkable lack of any turbo legacy's of that erra. Who cares that it may **** a turbo, and won't be able to keep up with an STi, it's clear that that's not what BG5A GT's are about

Does the 94 have 4 wheel disc brakes?

Again I do not care if it cant keep up with a STi, if I want to build a fast nimble car it wont be a wagon ;)

I love my current wagon and setup (header back exhaust, intake, Group N engine and trans mounts, tein h-techs kyb gr2 struts etc...) But the body is rotten and the low power has gotten me into trouble a few times and maybe its kept me out of trouble too haha

Disks all round on the turbos, yeah :) The smaller ones tho.

Are the USDM struts different to the Japanese ones? Andres' new stuff looks freakin weird. You may want some ver7 STi gear thrown in before it leaves :P Should be good tho.

At the end of the day I guess a GT IS a massive upgrade from the ol BK4 :P

I'm in the same position as you, Zac_BK4.

I wish I could wait for the '96 GT-B but I need to import something in the next year.

Too bad, since a lot of improvements were made in '96:

- more power; 206kW/338Nm for the 5-speed wagon (up from 184kW/309Nm in previous years)

- bigger brakes

- Bilsteins

- rear roof wing and more aggressive front and rear bumpers

I'm considering having the body parts and brakes from a '96 tossed in the back of the '94 or '95 I purchase before it gets shipped over here. There's lots of room in the back for parts.

I'm still researching ways to increase the power and eliminate the VOD. From what I've read so far, a ZeroSports EBC is a good, simple step toward solving both issues. A more drastic solution is to convert to single turbo. Again, this is just what I've found so far; I'm by no means an expert.

The "Legacy Help" sticky is full of good info as well.

You'll also find info on ozliberty dot com. I tried to register but the hyperlink didn't show up in the confirmation email they sent me. Some kind of glitch, I guess. Are there are any ozliberty members on here who can help?

Well mate, believe me, there's ALLOT more to it just a power figures and what you mentioned, they are a totally different car really. I'd recommend getting the 94/95, and living with it, or waiting and get your GTB.

You dont get a BG5A gt to modify, the 20H's just aren't that good an engine.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
