What tyres for drag racing...slicks or semi slicks - Type R

if you have half decent tyres on a type r you will be fine, i wouldnt bother with slicks, you will probably suprise a few stis etc anyway

track bite does not soften the tyre.

It makes it very sticky with some friction.

what do you think they use on topfuelers and tin tops=2500hp+

Have done this with a small spray bottle many times.do it as a mist,not a puddle of the stuff ha ha

this track bite you speak of.... that is the same stuff they spray down to the 60ft line at meremere etc.. its the big drum of vht branded yellow gunk. they dilute it with methanol of all things

yeah the stuff you do not stand on with jandals.

when doing a drag meet for street cars,they do not use this as a part of track prep.

only used when a full scale meeting is on.

never heard of them using it with methanol at all.

you can buy it in small amounts,or used to be able too.

been a few years since i have had any.alot cheaper than tyres.

they use it all the way down the track for a full meeting.

Do you guys know the stuff they put on some street intersections, its a yellowey browney color to stop people sliding?

That stuff is seriously grippy, ever tried launching on that stuff haha?

They should make drag strips out of that
