Got Rich to replace some dodgey brake lines and power steering hoses.

The reservoir had to be emptied of course which was pretty hard to contain and leaked all over my shiney manifold. Going to need a good steam clean now. Was funny driving down the road watching all this white smoke coming from the engine bay, as most of it was being burned off.

Eyyy I'm going out to Richards tomorrow to get my power steering fluid changed!

Turns out the power steering hose couldn't take the pressure and blew, spraying PS fluid everywhere. The heat wrap got soaked and ignited, actually thought my mate was having a laugh when he said " car is on fire" in fact the 4 of us just laughed, until I looked and saw the Orange flames coming off the headers, quickly got my old fire extinguisher and put it out.

Anyhow it's fixed again, no major damage and just started her again and works. Weld on bung for the PS return line and all AN fittings should fix that leaking, and gone very high pressure braided hose for the ps pressure line. Going to run it on Saturday morning fire extinguisher in hand until all the **** burns off the header wrap.

2nd time the car has tried to kill itself.

Well lets just say ya Balls aren't the only thing thats burning lol. good to hear everything is ok though!

I hope you have taken all the header wrap off and going to put new stuff on!

haha don't hate the chromies, tbh I hate them also but they were with the car when I bought over a year back and haven't been able to afford new ones. Chromed steel = weight

yeh I used to do a bit of fabrication work so im pretty good with the whole filling/ spraying deal. In all honesty though, id sooner just get lighter alloys.

As for the gaskets, I have them in my right hand dude.

aa insurance quoted 1490, with a 400 excess, tower and ami and wont do it for the same reason as NAC, waiting to hear back from club auto

Try classic cover here in hamilton, they do good prices but you have to insure it for use of kms i.e 5,000kms of driving per year, good if you dont use it as a daily.

Aww gutted as theyre mean pricing, only issue is you need to be 25 or older. I feel your pain with insurance though, they like to make it difficult sometimes(all the time)

Try Youi; I've heard they're good.

ClubAuto is underwritten by Tower; I've insured both my cars with them; paying circa 80/month per car, both modified one with alarm&immobiliser, one without. and I'm 19. my excess is almost as much as my annual premiums though.
