Pretty sure G B had enquired with Subaru NZ prior to gettting an aftermarket exhaust system for his STI and their response was "yes it will void the warranty".

Bayswater told me as long as it's after the cat they're not fussed.

I forgot what my annual premium for full cover on my STi is; It's not much tbh; think like 130 a month at most.
For an under 25 with a modified car, with it insured to auckland. Car is valued at 23k iirc. so it's okay.
Unlike those of you using your parents for insurance; I started paying my own at 18, so a few years down the track I now have a good record with
my insurance company, and my premiums drop. also, Clubauto do a defence force discount :D

+1 for paying for your own insurance from the start. Hurts a little when you are young but once you get a few years down the track with a good record it is well worth it.

on the bright side it meant i had less money to go out, thereby cause trouble and be one of those unfortunate knobs to wrap themselves around a tree.
I don't have a lot of self control, I have to force myself hahha. Admittedly, I spent more time fixing my legacy than actually driving it, so the insurance was mainly incase it caught fire hahahha (Full cover from day 1 though)

Insurance is well wise to the "just a named driver" thing, and I have heard of cases where the insurer went "okay so, when's the last time you actually drove the vehicle? Oh never? Okay no payout for you."

If you can afford 30k of car and you're still living at home, you can afford to do things properly. It's all good to hope it's fine until you rear end a range rover and find they decline the claim

They are also well aware that regardless of what your warranty says about it, a straight pipe is an obvious modification. Just play it safe man

On that note, crashed mine the other morning xD On the plus side, my excess is less than what I was going to pay to get the front end resprayed so there's a silver lining to it

I was gonna jump on board NAC for $94 a week but my parents told me to leave the car stock and stay with their insurance. They bought the car for me so I'm pretty bound to what they say goes. Was a surprise as well but I don't think they realised how hard it was gonna be to get insurance for a brand new 60k STi with 17 year old driver

at 17; I'd spent a year of part time work money on making a broken twin turbo legacy a working single turbo legacy...
also, NAC are sh1t; no free glass cover- that is 40% of the reason I go full cover.
S*** man, I was happy when my legacy premiums dropped to 94 a month.. admittedly that was multi-vehicle insurance.
kids these days......

It'll go down, I get the insurance company to review the costs every 6 months or so; can usually bring it down a bit.
especially considering no driving offences in a while. eh 22k car, it's only like an extra 20 a month compared to my old STi lol

It sounds very much like money is not a terribly huge issue for either yourself or your parents, insure it with Classic Cover or the other crowd that doesn't suck and go to town on it.

Actually I suspect Classic Cover won't cover drivers under 25...

A new STI at 17, I assume they took out a very large life insurance policy on you, or they don't like you very much :P

I haven't come close to crashing it once, I had a 2010 Legacy GT that was tuned and much quicker than my STi. Will enquire with classic cover. Dad just said he'd rather see me enjoy his money than me enjoy it after he's passed lol

My STi per year through NAC was gonna be $4,700. And it is registered under my mum's name

Over the weekend I started pulling it all apart again.

Turbo and uppipe now removed; got to jack it up and take the downpipe and headers off next.

Then injectors, ugh.

Purchased an '04 3.0R with full heated leathers, McIntosh stereo, not a single dent and 100k's on the clock for 5k

Even the chrome on the front grill is in mint condition.

Nice!  That's about what I got mine for which I would describe similarly, though sadly it has turned out to be less of a bargain than I thought due to a shitty pre-purchase inspection.  Loving the heated seats now that it is chilly:)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
