What have you done to your car today?

i did this to my old RA - had a remote start to allow for warming up

was great and really good for cold mornings..

only issue was that  - one time the alarm got stuck and would not stop engaging the starter motor

i though i would burn the starter off as it kept starting the car despite me turning it off

maybe was a glitch ..who knows but i stopped using that feature after that....

Thanks! Another source and agency I will get confirmation with...

Seems it might not become a reality but let's see.

Right, two insurance houses have confirmed installing a keyless and remote start system won't void any insurance claims with them. One confirmed it will however not cover the unit itself and one confirmed it will cover the unit to a max value of $500.

Now I am just waiting on feedback from NZTA

Picked up a new tow vehicle for the Rally Car yesterday, the newest car I've owned by 12 years, and definitely the nicest car I've owned!
2008 Fairmont Ghia, nice leather interior, and more importantly it has a 2.3T tow bar on it :D

big metal.

turbo 6 ?

v8 ?

:D

Yeah wanted something big that could comfortably tow the RS and not worry about weight limits etc.

Non turbo 6.
I knew if I got the turbo model I'd just want to modify it....

A friend has a G6E Turbo and it's just ludicrous, I absolutely love it, but yeah if I got one then the RS would never get any attention...

Yea last tune from 2016 on the stock ECU which wasn't fully tunable.
Nothing much mechanical has been done since then.
That right there is fuarking impressive. Amazing that a fully tunable ecu can make THAT much of a difference in torque

Yea it's pretty crazy. Almost feels slower now since it ramps so quickly there isn't that bump at 4k like there used to be.

I had been having a crack at tuning the stock one with different ROM’s over the last few months and had got it a bit better than the original DTech tune due to more tables being tunable but couldn't get it to behave half as well as they have. Think I was getting around 370nm at 3600 but would boost cut in high gears due to no boost by gear tables or compensations and sounded like it was hitting surge sometimes. That's with virtual dyno too so a bit of an apples and oranges situation.

Plus now running speed density so no pesky MAF’s to deal with from here on out.

Great result.Any problems with canbus and dash display.

Haven't found anything major just yet. Will need to do more driving with it to be completely sure. Dash fully works, only things i’ve come across so far are that the red key symbol stays on the dash the whole time, assume it’s something to do with the imobiliser and that the blue light when coolant is cold no longer operates.

Thank’s,excellent work done by Dtech installed and tuned in only 2 days? Is your Legacy the first they have done and what boost are you running.

One day really, that included installing it, making up the expansion loom for the IAT sensor along with additional wiring for future addons such as fuel pressure, oil pressure and flex fuel and tuning it.

Had it all working on the first day then just wanted to keep it overnight so they could get the tune right for cold starts the next morning.

Yea this is the first Legacy they have done with a plugin Emtron ECU. Haven't got a boost plot yet, need to give Tony a buzz on Monday to try get that. He did mention the max it hits is 20psi.

I was looking at piggyback for the afm to run flex fuel on mine.Personally don’t like that method as I’ve had problems with other cars in the past.Looked at running E70 but didn’t want the hassle of mixing fuel and wanted to run straight petrol occasionally. Not using the Legacy much at the moment, manual and Auckland city traffic.Mostly driving the auto Outback, that flat 6 is a sweet engine.

You mean you’re looking at running a piggyback aftermarket ECU?

Wouldn't say there are many tuners confident in adding flex fuel to a stock ECU without ECUTEK or something like that.

The Emtron can also be tuned for a factory AFM.

Not piggyback ecu,Zeitronix or Delicious for running flex fuel with EcuTek.I’d rather do it properly and replace the factory ecu.Up untill now there were no aftermarket ecu options available for the canbus Legacy. What was the approximate cost for the Emtron ecu install and tune.

Fricken lots.... Have a chat to Tony if you want to get ballpark pricing for what you want from it.

So the RA is booked in to go to Christchurch, and pay a visit to @SAS for the engine build and @gotasuby to tune.

Though, does anyone know of a good priced car transport company? Car doesn't exactly run soooo.

How do they even go about sorting that? A specialised truck?

Haven't ever seen one with a winch but don't pay that much attention.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
