Bollocks, I would be staggered if they were faster than an RS4.

EDIT: Or a Stagea 260RS Autech.

This was in 1998, mind you. But still.

Should mention that's in the 2 litre class

Subaru probably handled better than the B5 RS4 though.

B7 RS4 is still the best RS4 they ever made though. I'm really tempted to pick one up instead of a Mazda at the moment...like, VERY TEMPTED

The B7 is a really nice car. Like those a lot.

In things I actually did today, oil and filter on the Legacy, and 4 out of 6 of the spark plugs. All the clips on the passenger side are really brittle, after the front one broke the clip off and I had to ziptie the plug onto the coil (arghhhhhhh!) I decided it was a S*** job anyway and I will pay someone to do the remaining 2 plugs.

EDIT: I also eyeballed the STI and made turbo noises in my head.

I took both front wheels off and checked the ball joints and bushes.

everything seems tight with no play and the boots are all intact.

Wheel weights are all still in place.

Tires are still legal and no flat spots or bulges.

Had a lot of vibration on the road going through the roadworks on SH16 and wasn’t sure it was just the road surface.

Steering felt off as well.

Yeah my steering is feeling a bit off too.

First port of call once new wheels are on is full alignment and balance.

The last RS4 manual too...and that V8! Such a wonderful engine! But when the timing chain guides fail (plastic), they're a SUPER fun job (NOT).

Only one on TM that grabs me (it's not black, white or silver lol).

I'd love a Yellow one! Less than 1000 of those worldwide.

Got some inspiration from batbaruman and gave my wagon a good buff. I just used a drill, an old sponge, rag and a bolt with a bit on the end. Worked very well and cost $0.

Started with SCA liquid wax, then autohaus compound. Then used turtle wax color correct blue.

Cleaned up the interior also, took a lot longer then expected to be honest.

But it is 10x better then it was when I bought it.

Used the alloy wheel cleaner also. e37e203dcdf0aba356e7b00ccc8b6216.jpg6eb1f73b088a8cfbe5ae55ed7ba725cc.jpg

On the weekend I got bored and bashed out the centre y collector cat.

My handy drill and  round file with a wonky end and a small diameter pipe and it was all done in no time.

Sounds a  bit better,  maybe a little be more responsive low down.

No real reason to do do this.

Whaaaa no way, what’s wrong with it that it’s gonna cost that much? :( install a roof scoop if that’s the case

No heat on passenger side, just blows airconditioned air.
Need to replace the mix actuator and to do that... the whole dash needs to be removed.
Basically a full day labour on top of the part cost (approx $350 new). 😥

Yeah 4th Gen you didn't need to take the dash out... 5th Gen... well yeah... :(

Guess I'll just keep a spare hoody in the car for the front passenger :P

Hoping my BH just needs a regas. I have the opposite problem. Heat is fine just no nice beautiful cool air for the summer time. Still, now that we're coming into winter I can probably delay it a bit 😅

You selling her?

Already sold. A good friend expressed interest, and it was a no-brainer. Still get to see it round and drive it on the odd chance.

I was in 2 minds - sell and forget, or sell it to my mate.

Glad I chose to sell it to my mate! The car has a lot of memories in it for me - mainly of my Mum who passed earlier this year. We did quite a few road trips in it together for random things.

Got the alarm removed, new ignition and key...Then full fluid change and alike, now to look at tuners to do a full check and tune..Running super rich so would love to send it somewhere for some love, was looking at PBMS but I really don't want to send it all the way to Puke and back when I live in the North Shore.

But is good giving the old wrx a spin after all these years.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
