finally completed the engine bay, just need to connect the tps wires together easy as.

Applied RainX to the front and rear windows and I\'m thoroughly impressed. I put it on and couldn\'t help myself so went inside and grabbed a jug of water and threw it on the windows, IT WORKS !

Couldn\'t lots of toe out do something similar too?

Would make sense too, just a shame I can\'t get an alignment done as it\'s too low

You need to look up doing an alignment using stringlines

Basically, set up two equal length bars (one either end of car and about 300mm wider than the car) at the height of the hubs. Then run parallel strings between those bars, down both sides of the car.

Using a steel ruler or the depth gauge on some verniers, measure to a datum on each wheel to centre the strings on the car.

Then you can measure to the front and rear of each wheel to calculate the toe.

Works really well, is accurate if you can measure accurately, and is fast to setup and check. Also make sure that its sitting on a flat piece of ground. I use bars that can be zip tied to the bumpers so then I can roll the car back and forwards if I need to jack it up to make changes.

Looks like it will be my best option to do the above since I will need to do the same to the wrx after I do the rack spacers, thanks for the advice mate!

No worries. I\'ve been meaning to do a step by step with photo\'s for years but always thought about taking photo\'s only after I actually finished the job. Its pretty basic but also easy to get yourself lost due to measuring off unreliable surfaces. I\'ll see if I remember to take some pics when I check the car again before it goes for a re-cert.

Also, make sure the strings are exactly the same distance apart on both bars. As they must be perfectly parallel.

Don\'t get caught out by the front and rear track being different widths.

Its possible to measure down to 1/3rd of a mm using a steel rule but also don\'t get caught out by dented rims etc which will throw the measurements off.

Best bet is to measure, then roll the car forward and re measure everything.

I use the spigot of the hub in the centre next to the CV nut as a datum for setting up. Don\'t use the end of the CV joint.

I heat-wrapped the headers on the toymota to try and shut it up a bit - it worked good, but dickhead here worked in a singlet aaaand the wrap is like pink batts so I am a bit itchy right now

if you soaked the heatwrap in water beforehand, it tends to keep the itchy fibers in check... but it\'s still nasty... feel yer pain!!

heat wrap is a bloody nightmare for itching, it\'s bad enough just on your hands let alone top of body. Even if you soak it , it still itches like hell.

Yeah I soaked it, and kept it damp while working with it too (after seeing how much fiber went flying when it was dry!)

Least it\'s one of those "do it once only" sort of jobs I spose
