Had a look under the hood after noticing some wisps of smoke coming from scoop when engine off- developed an oil leak somewhere near the primary....looks like its under the heatshield - any guesses?

Whats the thought behind putting it there? Not having a go but it just seems a bit silly to lose a glovebox when you can mount it on the seat base easily.

I didn\'t really want it mounted on/near the floor and there was a perfect spot I can put the glovebox back in and no visible holes, I like a tidy interior.

I don\'t need a glovebox it\'s not on the road any more lol

Fair enough I guess. I think floor mount is tidier personally but if its not a road car theres all sortsa funky shiz you can do

Has that not even got one strap around it? I wouldn\'t be relying on the wire bracket to hold it in place!

Its most likely the valve covers leaking down onto the exhaust manifold. Its an optional feature from the factory (Quite common and caused by the gaskets going hard in their old age).

That brackets pretty strong, I can add straps to it easy enough too

Have to agree, believe it looks tidier on seat base than exposing a giant space where the glovebox used to be, each to their own I suppose.

Are you only using it as a track car then?

Cuz if you are then that extinguisher isnt MSNZ certified. Even on most track days they\'ll make you remove it if its not certifiable. The bracket must have at least two straps.

rear struts removed, re greased, reinstalled. damn that yellow gunk is nasty. giving the struts a good clean whilst they are out, they are coming up nice. fronts tomorrow, it got too dark and the lighting outside mine is absolutely pants.

got the front struts regreased today, bit of a mission with one of the strut bottom nuts seizing (the one that holds the shock assy. inside the tower), had to chisel it off, and replace the nut, and clean up the threads a bit as they had partially welded inside the nut. but oh gawd damn that grease is nasty s**t.....

also tried the "zip tie braided lines", used about 150 ties, can\'t feel any effect tbh, unimpressed, but that\'s just a gentle drive around the block, may notice some difference when jumping hard on the stoppers.
