  1. Perrin dont do for the JDM. Which sucks cos their downpipe design, the way they handle the wastegate exhaust is awesome and has the smoothest flow.
  2. OK, Im actually going reasonably insane now. I cant find a single manufacturer that makes a down pipe for the JDM GRB STI. Kinugawa, Sard, Invidia and Tomei dont make one, and neither do HKS or Greddy as far as I can tell. They only seem to make them for the USDM 2.5L single scroll, which I just dont get. Theres nothing on FourtyOne, only for older JDMS and the 2.5L STI. So Ive got the down pipe that came with my X-force kit, so I assume my only option is going to be to get a flange that fits the VF49 twin scroll, but have been really struggling to find any good exhaust shops. Either no one responds to my emails or in one case, which was Woolf Mufflers, the guy sent me a really rude email just telling me to buy the right pipe, which I would love to do if I could find one! Any one got any suggestions of who I could take to get this done? Needs to be in Auckland, or I suppose, someone who can guarantee to get it right without the car, I suppose I could post it. Thanks!
  3. Problem is that the X-force down pipe costs like $500, so with the labour, Im not really saving anything.
  4. Thanks for the info guys. I had been talking to the guys at Rage as I had one on my v10 and loved it, they said that they will no longer be developing any more exaust systems due to the state of the market, which I assume to take meaning that people having been buying enough, which is a pitty because they make quality systems. The one they make for the v9-10 is the last they will make. so to remove the cat, would it just be cut out? Or are they bolt in? Expecting to pay 3-500 for a good down pipe, so no surprises there thankfully. So does anyone know if v9 or 10 downpipes are compatible or are they a total redesign?
  5. Hi All, Ive just discovered that x-force dont do a down pipe for the JDM twin scroll v11 STI, they only do the EJ257 single scroll, which means I am stuck with just cat back from them, which is OK. Can anyone recommend a good down pipe I can get to add to the system? Also, are down pipes for earlier version STIs compatible or a the lengths, shape etc different? preferably cat-less. Thanks!
  6. 95 octane? Yuck. Though I suppose there are a lot of places that you cant get 98, so fair enough.
  7. Also, I just have no self control ;D Its much better if I can dial the performance down a bit, else I drive too hard all the time which is what I like about having an EBC, but cant really afford that mod just yet, that will be next.
  8. At the moment nothing, but Im getting an x-force turbo back exaust and just replacing the panel filter with an apexi one. Thats getting done in the next couple of weeks, just waiting for the exhaust to arrive. Torque certainly look really professional and my boss has had s dyno done on his SRT8 Jeep by them. They just dont answer emails or questions Ive asked them on thier facebook, which I think is a bit rude. Only problem with EcuTek is then you are locked into only getting your car tunes by an EcuTek tuner as yoru ECU is locked up tight after the reflash, but then again, they do add more features that probably make it worth it. Does anyone know what method Torwque uses on the ESC? I cant get them to answer me.
  9. Awesome thanks! Im in Auckland, one thing though, please dont sugegst SpeedSource. I had alot of work done on my last Sub and Kent is a wizard, but the people who work for him are incredibly unprofessional. Kent rarely works on non-race cars nowadays, so you end up with one of his monkeys. I had quite a few issues with both the work they did and the work ethic of everyone at Speedsource, which is a real shame, becuase Kent himself is awesome with Subs.
  10. And now Ive just started looking at the OpenECU stuff using ECUFlash and am even more confused as to what I should do
  11. Hi all, Well, I havent been on here in a while, becuase I havent had a Sub in a while, but I recently bought a 2009 JDM STI. Im just starting to look at tuning options and have a few questions that I dont quite seem to be able to get the answers to. Ive found alot of articles and they all seem to have very differing opinions. How does the SI-Drive work? Does it load 3 different maps on the ECU or is it just one map and the SI-Drive changes some "characteristics" I really like the SI-Drive, its nice to put it in Intelligent mode and save some gas, while being able to switch to sport sharp and get fast throttle response and higher boost. How is it affected by re-flashing the ECU? Basically what Im trying to find out is that if I get it dynotuned do I need to get it done with 3 maps by someone who knows what they are doing with the SI-drive? Also, previous Subarus Ive just got an ECU reflash, is the Cobb port worth it? The V3 looks pretty cool.
