  1. or about an hour..... thats all my cert took.... maybe my car looks too legit... 8) depends what you need to get certified adjustable suspension required road test at 100kmph modified engine required decibel reading and emission test all takes time
  2. When you go in to get your car certified the certifier wont just look at specific modifications that you have done, he will take the entire day checking over the whole car and make notes of what needs to be certified and printed on the plate. So it doesnt matter just take it in and theyl check everything
  3. im unsure of the specs for the rear springs, they are HKS and came with my HKS hypermax adjustable suspension, Optical if you can tell me how to check i will and id definitly consider swapping for some softer ones. Cheers Miller ill come in and grab a tie rod end from you on Friday
  4. oh really my certifier just said to get a silencer..
  5. have to get a number of items before my car will pass its cert.. looking for best deals and different places that stock the following items. tie rod end exhaust silencer roll cage padding springs for adjustable suspension (aparantly my rears are too hard)
  6. sweet mate, how much for side skirts and rear end caps?
  7. Yer i called a panel beater before. he said: Usually they clamp a tool on the lip and tie it down to the hoist then jack it up and the dent pulls out, but depends how bad the damage is, and if the floor has pulled away from the floor etc. etc. will be taking it in to get fixed next week
  8. Thanks for the input. If it were only the lips that were bent over i wouldn't be too worried but the actual sills themselves are dented in, i suspect from using trolley jacks. There are two ideas i have come up with: Panel beater drills a small hole, inserts a special tool and pulls out the dents in the sill then straightens the lips with vice grips. (may be easier if heated with a blow torch?) or Drill a hole from inside the car in the top of the sill and insert a socket extension or something and bash the dent out with a hammer just some ideas, what do you think?
  9. i didn't have a camera on me so i couldn't take any pictures. Basically the lip piece that sticks down is bent over flat against the sill and the sill is dented up making it out of shape.
  10. Hey, i took my car to get certified today and the guy gave me a list of things that i need to fix before he will issue me with the cert. Now.. the previous owner of this car must have jacked the car from the wrong place and has pushed up the sill (the piece that runs down the side of the car where the side skirts go). The guy said this is structural and that i have to fix it in order to get the cert, i agree BUT How can i fix it? Or who can i employ to fix it? Has anybody else encountered this problem before? Im thinking that it could be pulled down back into shape somehow? Any help is appreciated!
  11. I never said this was a time attack car or even a competition car. This is one mans gc8 home built in his garage, still road legal and used weekly and occasionally taken to the track for a bit of fun. Obviously there are faster cars out there.. but i have never seen wheels that big on a gc8 and i love the style of it, also 426kw ATW on pump is impressive
  12. I came across this 2door gc8 on the American impreza forums and just had to share it with you boys.. one of the best i have ever seen! its rocking 18"x10" front and rear rims with spacers, wide body kit, and around 400kw at the wheels, all that with a lot of style what you guys think?
  13. i know for a fact that the hazard light switch was not plugged in, and the indicators lite up when i use the alarm, so im thinking it may be the cure
  14. the thing is i have the dash instrument cluster plugged in. BUT. i have my suspicions that its faulty because a few of the gauges (fuel and water temp) are faulty, and it looks like somthing may have shorted on the back
  15. Hey the indicators are not working on my 1995 Impreza WRX STI RA When i press the alarm button, all indicators light up, front 2, side 2, and rear 2 - so bulbs and wiring must be ok It is only when i try to use the indicator stick that nothing happens.. not even the clicking noise, just nothing I am wondering what could cause this? Does the dash instrument cluster have to be plugged in for them to work? ANY HELP APPRECIATED, NEED TO GET A WOF!
  16. thanks yea this thread is quite old, i have since purchased a link boost controller, map sensor etc.

  18. i need to get my front bumper painted white.. it is currently gel coated i have had a quote at $400.00 but that seems a bit expensive.. i dont mind driving out of auckland or whatever So if anyone has had work done somewhere they want to recomend??

    shiftlight

my shift light signal wire comes off the + of one of my coil packs then you cut all 4 wires so the shift light recognizes the engine has 4 cylinders and can work out the rpm
  20. haha if it actually is a 5 speed and your 'boostin hard' down the motorway redlining 5th at say 220kmph and trying to hook reverse thinking its 6th that is some seriously funny shit
  21. hey i need to get my front bumper painted I remember there was a thread on here a while back about some guy who did cheap jobs from his garage or something? i couldnt find it.. Can anyone recommend some cheap places in auckland? Cheers
  22. probably one of the better wings i have seen. BUT i just love the look of the impreza sedan end with no spoiler too much, i would never even think of putting one on even for better handling
  23. why would it matter? the car has a front mount it would just be scooping hot air to the gearbox haha
