Would be keen, weather dependent .

Maybe not Palmy, that's what a 5 hour drive? Taupo would be ok, or Auckland. Or just to rags
Better organise this before end of winter, missus is trying to get me to trade it in for a Tuscon.

It's a 2008 2.0r AUS spec i believe.

Well,.. today I received a letter from subaru for a safety recall notification regarding the takata airbags. hmm. Just purchased a cambelt kit for the hatch, looks like a weekend job

Heyo, would anyone in Hamilton have a guard roller I might be able to borrow?, happy to hire for a cost.

Successful day,
Fixed the impreza + new oil change
Removed the SSQV(real) from the sti, <- drives soo much better, less rpm drop between shifts, stronger boost in low rpm, very reccomended do to. I forgot what full drive ability felt like.
Turbo doesn't spool as loud now, :( use to sound like a jet plane. But now I have wastegate chatter on high boost Maybe it was just masked by the ssqv before.

I don't think the 08 model has the avcs filter? Anyway I pulled the ocv valve out, and swapped it to Bank A and the car started! but with check engine still on, so I guess off to buy a new Bank B sensor. Thanks for the help.
Duurr just had to reset the ecu all is working fine now after a 2k drive. 'touch wood'

Actually just checked for cel using the 'headlights on/off & trip meter push method" < really cool feature I wasn't aware of until now, and it shows P2092 cel, the throttle body also has a constant buzzzzzzzz noise while the key is set to on.

I wasn't sure, I had a predetermined thought that the middle notches should be aligned.
-
I moved it before dropping the old oil. Just scratching my head so much, Once I changed the oil the car wouldn't start. Cranks but doesn't fire.
-
I had recently completed a oil change on my 08 impreza and before hand moved the car started and moved forward less than a meter and shut off the car all within a second. After completing the oil change the car wouldn't change. I replaced plugs, filters, pump test, and then decided to take a look at the belt which looked like this.
is this the reason my car won't start?

thanks for the clarification all.

What flares are you planning on using? Also keep in mind that you will need a cert if your wheels protrude from the original bodywork and track width is increased by more than 25mm.
If the wheels are tucked under aftermarket flares molded to the oe fenders wouldn't this fall under no-cert required category?

soo, I'm planning a project where the missus stated it was a 'waste of money' so I definitively know that I am on the right path..
The question is can someone help explain the law around offset (i.e running a 10.5 et +15) vs factory ( 17x7.5 et +53)
The law states,
"in the case of a front-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle fitted with atransversely-mounted engine:
(i) not more than 10% of the total wheel width positive; and
(ii) not more than 35% of the total wheel width negative;"
does this mean the offset can not be lower than 35% of the wheel width, so if I was to run a wheel that was 10.5 wide, the lowest positive offset could be +5 ? is this right?

fyi it is a similar diffuser if you had your heart set on that particular one in the original post. The mature diffuser is a bit larger and covers more bumper, the trademe link is a replica hks kansai diffuser. (both good lookers imo) I think you will have to look on ebay for replicas, around $250 for each pair (skirt, lip pair, rear spats) so about $750nzd with I'd expect $500 shipping, yeah that's the killer. There are nz sellers such as fortyone who can sell you the oringal chargespeed kits for $2000!,
search ebay for 04 bottomline, might find the frp kits alot cheaper than the carbon fiber.
-
I really want that wing, but it's like $1400 shipping to nz
I believe that pictured is the
mature diffuser
chargespeed cf extension set
syms wing
karlton flares
front lip is actually the chargepseed 06 sti lip

nothing unplugged, didn't even need to jack the car. Just drained the oil and swapped the filter, double checked it wasn't the trans or diff oil just incase:cool: annoying thing is as i stop trying to crank and turn the key back to ign is where it has that short burst of about to start each time, but doesn't.
-
yeah its very faint though, doesn't sound like a jet engine like the walbro does.

I changed the oil in my 08 impreza today, and now the car won't start!?, I had to quickly move the car as I parked it in the garage overnight, and quickly moved the car 2m forward and then turned off the car and complete my oil change. Some posts seem to believe the motor has flooded, idk is that even possible on an 08?
12.6v on the battery, same as my sti at idle and that cranks. The ignition turns over but wont start, any help?

Is there much going on in the area in the way of cruises? I'm about to lock the beast away for another winter while I change some things.. Would like to try get on a cruise before I pull her apart.

"Performance" brake pads?

I have the Znoellis installed, they are excellent for the street so far, quiet but a fair bit of brake dust.
