  1. It sits at 4-5.xx by default when I just start the car, and actually decreases when I accelerate

Stupid question, if I just want stock boost what should I set it too Low/High I can follow instructions to set it up but not sure which values to use

Pappu said to put it to 14-15psi, but from reading instructions I need a low and high point, assuming 14 as high what would low be

Edit: Actually nevermind I read the instructions wrong, if I blow the turbo I'll just replace it :P

2nd Edit: Now I know why I'm confused it shows in kg/cm^2 not BAR or PSI I just set low/high to 1.00 which = 14.504psi might turn that down a smidge ;s

Also that 4-5.xx it says mm** (Scratch on plastic so can't see the 2 letters/numbers next to mm)

  2. By all means i'm not a small person, and if the suspension is as low as it looked surely the tyres would be rubbing on the guards with someone her size, that's why I won't lower my car to much, poor thing carries enough weight around without me making it hit the tyres :P

And the cop who gave the aussie guy a fine said the lady who reported him had 2 other witnesses to back her story, so it wasn't her vs him sort of thing

  3. Anyone watch this?

People at the end give subaru owners a bad name

Couldn't tell if it was an STi or just a wrx with sti badges, but the suspension apparently (according to the cop) was shattered, and she was arguing how she owned the car for 18 months and had 3 warrants with these suspension and how she goes up and down Devils Staircase (Not sure where that is) with no problems.

Not really any good shots of the car itself mainly front on D:

  4. Was looking at this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=488048416

Before he relisted it he said it could be used for my Forester if I knew a welder who could extend it by 2.5" otherwise it's to short

Actually nvm, he completely changed what models it was for

Original listing said "Brand new 3" turbo back stainless steel exhaust system for Subaru WRX Impreza version 1-7." and what I said above

Relisted and he changed it too "Brand new 3" turbo back stainless steel exhaust system for Subaru WRX Impreza year 2000 - 2006"

  5. EDIT: Need new info now rather than making a new post

    Hi,

Looking at replacing the muffler below with a full system

    exhaust2.jpg

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=491814043 Redline say I can use this on my Foz if I get a welder to add in roughly 2.5" of piping to push the muffler out further

Or do I keep above muffler and just replace down pipe with http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=490466590 (See my question they have one for an SF5) or the Xforce version http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=490633598

  6. Still need help with this

I found the HKS Box in the engine bay, Think it's an HKS EVC IV

    001.jpg

    Closer look

    003.jpg

Can I tee in too any of those hoses for a boost gauge? Most of the hoses the numbers have worn off, I read Vacuum #22 but can't find it

The EVC Displays boost but as you can see in the first post it's not in an ideal place to look at while driving. Thanks!

  7. I posted this in the AVS Sponsor section before I found this thread, so I deleted it and moved it here D:

Hoping you can help, I just bought a 97 Forester with an AVS Alarm installed, on the box in the engine bay it says A4/S4/S5, How do I know which one it is? Or is that something only an AVS Installer can find out?

I just insured it but the company wants to know the model of alarm is all

I want to add some of the extras, like door locking on ign on and a turbo timer, but unsure if all the "Accessories" are compatible with all 3 alarms listed above, also want a second remote

I've had AVS on all my cars, love them to bits, who I can take to in the Central Auckland area to look at ?

  8. It has a "PWR" Button on it, While the engine was running it lit up but showed no numbers, So assumed it was doing it's stuff sort of in the background? I pressed PWR and it now all the numbers show it

But I'm unsure on what it is set too

Roughly while cruising at 60 it sits around the numer 4.xx

When I floor it to get up to 100 on motorway it goes down from memory didn't really look carefully need to watch the road :P

  9. Hey all

So this SF5 Forester I bought on Sunday has a HKS EVC where the fuses are (see pic), I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it does, ideal settings and possibly a manual for it? It was turned off when I found it so I've powered it back on, but unsure of purpose.

    Thanks!

  10. Hey all

So I just installed my speakers in to the drivers side door and things started going haywire

Firstly: The little switch by door handle that you use to lock/unlock all 4 doors: When the car ign is in ACC or engine running The doors won't stay locked, flick switch locks then auto unlocks (Locks properly when key is out of Ignition)

Secondly: Drivers side door "Auto" Function doesn't work anymore, Holding it down lowers window fine, Pulling back the window goes up then stops, gotta repeat the process to shut window i.e Pull up > Window Stops > Pull Up Again > Window Stops, From complete open I gotta do this 4 times to shut the window

I have checked the plugs/wires to make sure I didn't accidentally cut a wire or put the plug back wrong, These are fine.

    Could a Fuse cause this?

I gots a ghost in the machine! :(

Edit: 2003 Subaru Legacy GTB D:

  11. Thanks luvmaforzzy, Dean wasn't there but Ian was extremely helpful

He is going to remove the factory resonator and put in a 19" and 16" Coby Resonator tomorrow :)

I drive through onehunga so much completely forgot about mr muffler lol

I rev'd my car for him quite high and he said "s*** that sounds like an RX8" So my reply was "Fix it!!!" lol :P

He also looked at the above down pipe and was quite impressed at the quality of it, so props to Subtech

  12.  funkytown']

il swap you the standard mufflers if you like?i have a BP

Haha no thanks, took me a couple months finding a BP model with this exhaust :P

    [quote name='luvmaforzzy said:

chuck a 19inch resonater in her mate and should make a big diffrence in sound and have a nice purr, and I also have the genome muffler, 2 1/2'' front to back.

Cheers, I'll look in to that, might try Pitstop :)

  13. Hi All

I got a 2003 Subaru Legacy GTB (BP Model) It came with Twin STI Genome mufflers, Sounded quite nice, Just had the downpipe replaced by Subtech to this:

    180138857_full.jpg

"The pipes themselves are 2 1/2 inch mandrell bent mild steel exhaust tube with a separate waste gate pipe for greater flow. "

Now my car sounds like a giant fart cannon whenever I give it my heavy foot, I had to drive like my nana just to keep it semi quiet, I got a feeling my next wof = fail, unless I get pulled over first.

Should I get silencers welded in to the mufflers (if that's possible) or is there another way to quiet them down

    Thanks :)

  14. Hi All

Hoping that anyone who has done a car pc install can point me in the direction of a good computer store that has a lot of ITX Cases/Mobos etc..

I was gonna buy some stuff off mp3car.com but they want to charge me $120 Freight for a $15 item so yeh gave up on that :P

PBTech have a avg range of ITX Mobos but 0 cases, I found a couple JTSComputers.co.nz and itx.co.nz but very limited on choices

    Any help apreciated ! :)

  15. ok so apparently if you want to do this on the 2003 Legacy an aftermarket HU can't connect to the Macintosh amp, Basically you gotta get a New amp that runs front speakers + sub and run the rears straight off the head unit,

Rapidradio helped me with this, Since I'm setting up a Car PC I found the only head unit with Aux input Alpine CDA-105E so the car PC can run thru the head unit for audio

Otherwise hack up wht Macintosh and try wire in an aux input D:
