nope mines still a gutless but nice driving machine. I'll have it swapped to a GTb by the end of the year. Sick of thrashing gears to get over hills.
compared to any other NA car I've ever owned its the slowest by a mile. either somethings wrong or it's just underpowered to haul nearly 1700kg of kerb weight around.

in the boot, and tie the lead to the tie down loops in the boot to stop him jumping over the seats

GOLD!
had the same thing happen in the foz last year, the big plastic screw thread in the door pulled out, so I had to hammer it flat so it stays in.
Should've seen the look of my (sober) wife as I'm holding the door open and my mate is in the passenger seat holding the ripped off door card in his hands

No, the loom provides a plug for the back of the stereo, but provides two loose wires that dim the headunit when you turn the lights on. Taps are taken off this purple and black combo at each place you want things dimmed. The dash, AC, and clock etc. I find it funny there doesn't seem to be a feed from the headunit plug.

all fwd's have inner and outer cv's else you couldn't have suspension movement, Citreon started the trend with their egg carrying weapon the 2CV.

I was under the impression that anything free-er between the heads and turbo would decrease lag and quicken throttle response?
-
true.
Will try in the morro
So the ones coming out the loom to feed factory stereos/AC/Dash are maybe not the only ones.?

come on, I can't imagine that I've exhausted the collective knowledge of the forum?

find a big patch of slushy gravel, do some donuts for a few minutes, then go "nope don't know what it is-sorry"
-
couldnt think of another way to do it

My factory no-name headunit has two wires to dim the display when the lights are on.
One is purple, the other black with dots. My new stereo only has one cable for dimming.
Probing around shows the existing wires have +12v when lights on. I assume the purple one is +ve and the black gnd?
But when wiring the dim cable to the purple one, nothing happens to the display. Is this a headunit thing or did I use the wrong wires?
The factory service manual only shows purple and black wires for dimming but not much else.
Cheers

I'm sure you can't get taken to court for confessing a crime that may or may not have happenned?
But if you did get caught for something, web chat will be evidence.
Those roads are awesome though. Good surface, good corners

same engines, over 200kg lighter, no contest.
But the rear wihbones in legacy's do make them comfy

Made a difference in the foz, but the tsr sounded boomy and loose.
Without the hole blocked, you've just made a nice hot-air-intake
-
just a carbon strut brace to go and you've comleted the Sti transformation?
-
All good.
I awas gonna say you can only do it on the ground if your drive is dead flat. Otherwise any twist on te car loads the sway bar, which is dangerous or awkward at best. I'm stuck using axle stands.

Had this in my forester when I got it.
Waste gate was sticky and the car was boost cutting.
You can unbolt the actuator and disconnect it from the wastegate. THen see how free the thing is. Mine was stuck very slightly open and wouldn't open much. Would cause boost creep on the motorway when cruising, causing the speed to fluctuate without the gas pedal being moved. And if I dropped a gear to accelerate it would cut, like the car hitting a wall.

Or get an impreza?
-
So here's a couple of half assed pics from my drive.
Look at the cliff in the second one.
-
Is there a (faulty) clutch sensor? Mine only starts with the pedal to the floor?
How clean/good contact is the negative battery terminal, wires in good shape?
-
Not neccessarily,
I mean more efficiency.
The hunting around the car and checking for factory settings proved that I can make it more drive-able.
b]Also Two tanks last week were 7.6l/100km and 7.8l[/b], or to put it another way it gets 150km further on the same gas as the foz does. And when I do 2 1/2 tanks a week it soon adds up.
Plus I can now run on 95.
Ps the v-power from shell knocks about 40k's off a tank compared to caltex.
Damn, on my last trip to dunedin my ts-r used at least 10l/100km! (on Shell v power and 95 from BP).
Pretty disappointing, wasn't driving with economy in mind though...
I'd give it a service

it's always the small things that make the difference

Fiting an aux lead to kenwood GX-206JE Legacy 08
in I.C.E.
Posted
So I just aquired a legacy gtb 08.
They say its meant to have an aux input in the centre console, it doesn\'t.
A google search and read through hints that i can either buy a subary gen part for $200 which is a 3.5mm socket atttached to an 8pin piggy back plug that goes in the back of the stereo or hack it. Hacking is easy if you can find what the pins do.
Anyone have an idea?
The only pin-out diagrams I can find for OEM are the clarion, mines a kenwood.
Cheers in advance
