  1. and yes i took the plate off of the other mani and placed it on the one that is currently on the car. I have basically mimicked the same set up as the motor was, when it was running. literally the only two things i swapped out were yellow injectors and replaced the mani with an sti one. I contacted subirex and he should be coming around to have a look later on today. Lets see if he can work his magic.

  3. yeah cam sensor is in correct place. yeah mani was swapped over. I had a look at it today and i noticed that the gasket on the passenger side isn\'t correctly on the tabs on the block but the rest of it is tight down. could something like that be a issue? i swear its probably something really simple that i just keep over looking. It\'s always the case with me lol. i always miss the smallest things
  4. no aftermarket reg. Ok so i reinstalled the greys. Bloody hell those yellows took a bit of muscle to remove. I gave it a few cranks but the same result. Battery died after a few attempts but will give it another go tonight when i get a hold of the jumper cables.
  5. yeah coil pack is upside down but their are numbers on it so ive run leads from cylinder one to number one on the coil pack etc. There is no cel. Pretty sure there is no vac leak cause i put everything back on that came off. Map sensor is plugged in, afm is plugged in, everything is plugged in. Yeah battery died during my mission today lol but i hooked it up to the bmw and the cranks suddenly had more life in them but still no start. As evo wrx said, Car was purchased as is. all i did was replace the wrx manifold and P1 grey injectors with a v3 sti manifold and yellows that came with. I inspected the seals prior to installing them and they were good. ran completely fine with the wrx mani and greys but was running wastegate pressure. Want to run factory boost and figured the greys were the reason it was running only 8psi. Car is popping/farting out the exhaust when im cranking it, not the intake. A slight psssh noise like its releasing pressure is coming from the bay some where. i suspect it to be intake.   6. As above. so im probably over fueling with the yellows. I bought new plugs today but still no luck of getting it started. just more puffing out the exhaust. It sounds like there is air being released some where after a few cranks but im not entirely sure where. Is that normal? could it be that the injector seals are damaged and there is pressure leaking causing it not to start? either way im going to have to pull injectors out again to try the greys or check the seals. how can i tell whether or not the ecu is a genuine j2? If i pull it out, open it up and take a pic will you guys be able to tell? It should be though cause from what i gather, the earlier model ecu\'s dont fit the v5/6 loom.
  7. yeah i guess my last resort will be buying some new plugs. i tried both sets of platinums. will see if it starts tomorrow after i clean plugs again and plug leads in correctly. If not il go buy some coppers on monday.

  10. insert type v5/6. Yeah that\'s what is confusing cause the car ran fine with the greys when it\'s suppose to be running yellows. cars only running wastegate pressure atm, im assuming due to the greys that\'s why i wanted to install yellows so i could run factory boost. Would the leads in the wrong order stop it from firing up?
  11. It had greys but it\'s suppose to be running yellows, hence the reason for the swap. its got a j2 ecu. v5 sti. car was put back together using different parts from different cars. Yes it has spark. i can see and hear the Leads when they are unplugged.
  12. Hey again guys. Car is starting to really F**K me off lol. I changed the manifold to an sti one and also installed some yellows. all went well. straight swap with no dramas. I\'m having trouble starting the car now. Been at it for the last 3 days. Engine is showing signs of being flooded but i\'m not 100% sure. First time i went to start it after everything was back together i forgot to plug the camshaft sensor back in lol so that\'s what properly caused the flooding. so took plugs out cleaned them and let them dry overnight. next day cranked motor a few times to get rid of the fuel in the block. installed plugs back in hoping it would fire up but no go. just keeps turning over and over and occasionally some "puff" from the exhaust and also some air venting from the air filter. so again took plugs out to find that they are covered in fuel so i repeated the process with no luck getting it started. I\'ve tried accelerator to the floor while cranking as well. I was going to go buy some new plugs but I\'ve got two sets of platinum\'s which are only about 10k old so I\'ve been trying them. Any ideas of what i should try next? i wanted to pull the fuel pump relay out today and try cranking it over but couldn\'t find the relay. any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance
  13. Do you guys know whether or not the axle from a v3/4 gc8 is the same length as a v5/6? i have a spare v3/4 axle with inner and out cv joints attached which i can install.
  14. I see what you mean. Never knew there was another retainer in there. But as seen in the video, when he removes that retainer, all the inner bearings come out with the shaft. My problem is the shaft itself is just coming out. as if the small c clip isn\'t there.
  15. pretty sure i\'m not as when i discovered that the joint had popped out i checked if the circlip was still there, and it was. I thought it may have been old so i replaced it with another and it\'s still there. i might just try a new cv joint and see what happens.
  16. It\'s the outer cv. The problem i\'m having is that the cv joint wont stay on the axle. I popped it back on the other day but after two or three turns, it just pops back off the axle. I noticed that when i was putting the joint back on the axle that the splines didn\'t seem to line up properly but i knocked it with the hammer and it managed to pop back on. Maybe it\'s the wrong cv joint. Would a mis matched cv joint cause it to pop of the axle?
  17. Yeah at the front. Have coilovers all round. It\'s not super dooper low but its low. Will have to double check the camber on the coilovers but what your saying does make a lot of scence.
  18. hey guys, finally figured out why my car was making a weird clicking/thumping noise when making slow right turns. Had the car up on the hoist the other day and the axle that goes into the cv joint had basically fallen out. I changed the circlip and poped it back in. After 2mins of driving the noise came back and the axle has come out again. could it be that the axle itself it too short? or have i got the wrong circlip? oh also the car is quite low. it\'s a gc8. Thanks
  19. not parting it out at this stage. Only thing that will get removed if i go down that road is the motor. Need to actually check if the dccd is even plugged in lol. Hopefully i have a decent break through xmas so i can pull it all apart and have a proper look. Thanks everyone for all your help.
  20. nah it\'s not blue. factory white. i ran the gearbox codes and it shows that the car has the v5 sti type r gbox. The dccdc doesnt work though and it seems to drive like it\'s in full lock 24/7. Has a slight clunk when doing slow right turns. This car needs a lot of work. will think about what to do with it in the next couple of days. thanks for your help guys
  21. ok so my check engine light works. the ecu has grey plugs but there is one plug off the loom which is not plugged into anything. the injectors are definitely grey and i have a insert type afm so i assume i have the correct one. From what i\'m gathering, it\'s not a 207 but either a 20g or 20k. I\'m having trouble posting pics. WTH is it so difficult lol
  22. i thought about trying to get a refund but i got the car for quite cheap and the dude did say aiwi in the auction. I was pissed at myself yesterday when i had a proper look over the car and realized i should of looked at the car more thoroughly BEFORE giving the dude money. But hey shit happens and you live and learn. The CEL does not come up so i guess the engine light is still there.
  23. i\'m convinced that it\'s just a standard wrx non sti motor that has been swapped in with an sti top mount. The check engine light is not on but then again they could have just removed the bulb. I\'m waiting for some subaru guru to tell me the good news and say that it actually has an sti motor and all i need to do to get it running like it should is bolt the sti things back on and plug in an afm lol
  24. yeah it is lol. It has the insert type afm but it\'s not a yellow one.
